James is a founder, developer, and creator of web products and software.

He runs multiple online ventures spanning SaaS platforms, free and premium WordPress plugins, Shopify apps, and open source software used by thousands of businesses worldwide.

Additionally, he occasionally works as a freelancer for enterprise clients and creative agencies, building WordPress, WooCommerce, and Laravel websites.

A lifelong technologist and open source advocate, James began using PHP in 2001 and started developing with WordPress in 2008. Previously, he was Lead Developer at The Linux Foundation, where he worked primarily with the Cloud Native Computing Foundation who steward projects such as Kubernetes and Prometheus.

Originally from London and now based in Kuching, Malaysia, James has been a remote worker and digital nomad since 2015 – advocating for location independence through talks, interviews, and communities reaching tens of thousands worldwide.

He also runs the Chiang Mai WordPress Meetup.
