I get an error

Failed to download file Build/Build.data.br. Loading web pages via a file:// URL without a web server is not supported by this browser. Please use a local development web server to host Unity content, or use the Unity Build and Run option.

That is really strange, do you download anything from the page? It is supposed to be a purely web-based game, and as far as I have tested it there have been no issues. Could you send here a screenshot of what is happening?

Sure. Here you go. This is the version launched from the Itch launcher.

And this is the version launched from the file-explorer in Windows.

Hi, thanks for the screenshots! Fleet Forger is a web-based game, so it will not work if you download it (screenshot 2) - you can only play it by clicking start game button on the itch.io page. On screenshot 1, it seems like you are running it with the web player plugin which is no longer supported by Unity, so there might be some compatibility issues with it that I can't fix on my end :( . The best advice I can give is to play directly on the page with "Run Game" button - that should work without an issue

Got it. That’s a bummer, but it explains some other problems I have had.

This is a good start. There are some issues I would like to see addressed:

  1. The hit box appears to be quite large, especially in the rear of the ship.
  2. Needing to click and fire causes some hand-eye coordination issues and I am not sure I like it or dislike it. On one hand, that’s the point right? On the other, it seems odd that I wouldn’t want to be shooting wherever the cursor is located.
  3. There are loading issues I saw with background sprites popping in.
  4. A blue damage indicator is weird. It took me a while to realize that’s what it was.

Thank you for the feedback! I will address those one by one.

  • That is sort of intentional, since the character is so much faster than the enemies – if the hitbox was smaller, it would be almost impossible to lose; although it is perhaps a lack of playtesting.
  • It allows for better precision, allowing the players to only shoot when they want; this is especially important when it comes to secondary ability, that tends to have a longer cooldown.
  • I will look into it – allthough I cannot see them, I know where those might appear.
  • I think a tutorial explaining the main mechanics of the game is going to solve that issue – I will be finishing it as soon as I can :)

nice design suggests adding some juicy effects and it will be perfect

Thank you for the review! Currently working on some cool explosion effects for the enemies, I think those will fit really nicely!

I really love the visuals!

Thank you!!!

Really cool concept, few things to suggest:

1. Maybe add a tutorial or some indications on what to do because it took me bit to figure it out

2. I think you should change the sound of the firing, I thought I was pinging the ships against me.

Other than that it's an awesome game :D

Thank you very much for playing and for the feedback! Tutorial is an awesome idea - I will be adding it as soon as possible!
