Apparently I can post news here, so why not?


New event track

Right now I'm working on improving the event track.


Old event track just ticked the same 5 icons to display current level progress.

The new event track will display unique event icons and up to 3 next events. Each icon, including player opponent, will display event preview.

Apart from just being able to see the events at a glance, new track will allow you to come up with some strategy for the next events and the player opponent. It proved to be very useful when I was playtesting, so I think it will be a welcome feature.


Inventory size changes

When I was looking at the play records, I saw that in majority cases of ending a run, there are empty slots left in the inventory. Fight losses and reroll fails cause the rewards to be skipped, so a lot of the time people end up with empty storage and half-filled main inventory. These players end up at a massive disadvantage when they reach valour fights.


I will be addressing that in the next update. Inventory size increase will be much more gradual and add around 3-4 slots per level. This way you will be able to take at least one reroll fail per level without penalty to the valour fight performance.


Restart spam protection

One of the biggest issues with the PvP I found is the incentive to restart a run a lot of times to get a good level 0 and 1 items. When such runs were being added to the enemy pool it created a self-supporting loop: The more perfect runs were added to the game, the more incentive there is to restart over and over for a better gear to defeat the perfect runs.


Next update I will be adding a system of bonuses. The idea for this system came from Slay the Spire, where if you reach first stage boss you get a bonus on your next run start.


People will get bonus for their next run upon reaching level 3. Because everyone starts with 3 valour, even if you are defeated 3 times in a row, you will still get a bonus. There are 2 types of bonuses: either valour protection for 3 first levels, or free starting tool of choice. Valour protection will greatly help beginner players progress further and see more advanced events and enemies. Free tool will help players that want to delve into gathering and crafting begin these events much earlier.


This system of bonuses should break the loop of restarting at level 0 and help legitimate players in various ways.

I was planning to add new content like new items, events and enemies, but all the accumulated changes to UI, game balance and game progression will already have massive effect on the game. So I'm not going add any new items and events in this update yet and roll out these content changes in the next one.


I'm not going to include all of the update changes here to keep the post short.
