But what about those times when pesky space creeps are coming at you from all sides? That's when the Aim button is your best bet! Hold it to anchor Sparky in place, aim in any direction you want, and blast away!
And don't forget that Sparky's highly-versatile blaster can utilize a wide range of ammo pickups, including lasers, flames, and even homing missiles - plus it can hold two ammo types at a time, which you can swap between at any moment! Watch that heat meter though - if you go trigger-happy for too long, you'll burn out your currently equipped special ammo, returning it to the standard blaster mode.
But it's not all slimeballs and space bees out there, Sparky is bound to run into some particularly nasty celestial boss creatures too!
For more deep space adventures, remember to wishlist Spectacular Sparky, coming to Steam on October 20th! And give the demo as spin today, available now as a part of the Steam Next Fest!
Steam Next Fest kicked off today, and we are thrilled to announce that Spectacular Sparky is taking part in it - that means the demo is available right now, free to download for everyone! Now's your chance to give Sparky a spin, soak in those juicy 16-bit sights and sounds, brave the Brainforest yourself and wreak utter havoc through two full action-packed levels!
Sparky doesn’t work alone, though. To direct his bounty-hunting activities, he relies on his friend Shigg, a half shark, half pig with a military background. Shigg helps direct the mercurial Sparky toward the right bad guys while also providing some helpful intel in preparation for taking down each target.
Spectacular Sparky combines an authentic 1990s MegaDrive art style with fast-paced platform/shooter gameplay in a variety of action-packed levels. Stay tuned for more blog posts to learn more about your new favorite video-game mascot!
