Touhou Blooming Soul is now available in Early Access on Steam!

It's finally here.

Due some parts of the game still being untranslated, the game does not support any languages aside from Chinese at the time of writing. That said, the majority of the game has already been translated, and we are already working to have the rest of the content translated. If everything goes well, this should only take 1-2 months.

The last time we released a game was nearly 4 years ago, that being Touhou Fairy Knockout. We've released a new game virtually every year ever since we started making games back in 2018. With 4 years having passed, a certain feeling of roughness has crept back in, as if this were our first game. If there's anything you find lacking within the game, we'd like to ask you to please bear with us.

We started developing Touhou Blooming Soul back in August of 2021, and it took us this long to finally get to a state ready for Early Access. As one of the mainstream genres, there are a lot of action games out there, but we still vastly, vastly underestimated how hard it would be to develop such a game.

Between all the illustrations, visual effects, enemy attacks, and player skills, not to mention all the work required to polish the core gameplay loop and ensure a smooth player experience, etc... this game has been one colossal undertaking. There were many occasions where we could only despair at the insurmountable task ahead of us... and we even had to abandon all our progress two years ago and start again from scratch. It was only after all that that we could put out this game that is Touhou Blooming Soul.

Frankly, it's a miracle that this game even exists, but it's a game we poured our heart and soul into, and it's a game we've always dreamed of making despite having no prior experience making such games.

The main character is Hata no Kokoro! An adorable girl filled with emotions, yet who can only make a poker face, as if her passions have been encased in a mountain of ice. Join her on an emotional journey where she peers into the joys, angers, sorrows and happiness the world has to offer.

The Early Access version of the game contains two chapters, 9 unique bosses, 30 monsters, 120 items, 80 skills, more than 50 pixel art CGs, 3 alternate gamemodes, and one additional playable character (Mokou).

The main story takes about 1 hour to complete, and completing all the content currently in the game will take about 10 hours. However, the charm of roguelikes is that they can be played over and over again as you explore builds and refine your strategy, so you can still get many more hours out of the game. We also have plans to update the game with even more content in the future.

First and foremost is, of course, to follow up on player feedback. We'll be collecting and sorting through feedback from our community and various socials, fixing bugs and improving anything that needs to be improved.

After that, we'll begin developing the full version of the game, which we plan to release in two major updates. They will include, respectively:

• Chapter three content, including 4 bosses and their respective themes/CGs.
  
• Chapter three world and monsters.
  
• More items.
  
• More skills.
  
• More playable characters.

• Last chapter content, including 2 bosses and their respective themes/CGs.
  
• More items.
  
• More ways to play the game.
  
• More playable characters.

We hope to finish everything in around half a year. That is to say, we want to give everyone a finished Touhou Blooming Soul before the end of 2026.

Naturally, there'll also be many bug fixes and minor content patches along way. We plan to release these updates on a weekly or bi-weekly (every two weeks) basis.

虽然大家都等到现在了，但是我们很遗憾的通知……

23号凌晨我们在核查华心传最后发布流程的时候，发现我们上架时申请的EA功能变成了不可用状态，我心里一惊，点进去后，看到我以前申请的中英双语内容依然存在，但就是不知道为什么EA功能不可用了。因为要重新做EA申请，又要再次审核，这样很可能会错过发布日期。

我已经和steam那边发邮件试图解决这个问题了，我们坚持到到最后一刻，现在已经是美国的周五并且下班时间，这两个工作日我们没能得到回复和解决。

其实从公布发售日开始，团队已经熬了一周，天天18个小时开发。内测群的伙伴看着我们熬大夜，一点一点把版本准备好了，结果发生这种情况，是真的怄火又无奈。

现在距离原定发售时间已经不足30分钟了，看来已经无法正常发布，所以我们只能以这个遗憾的公告通知大家。

接下来我们会将发布时间暂定为30日，如果顺利审核过了，我们会另行进行正式的发售日通知。

我觉得大家有权知道，所以特别通知大家，我知道你们都很期待，我也很希望你们能玩到，但……

熬了一周的大夜，现在着实有点沮丧。但我们进行一番休息后，会好好利用这多出来的一周时间，继续制作和完善内容，谢谢大家对游戏的关心，让我们过几天再见。
