game is good...recommend

Early recommendation while this is still on sale. I'll edit when I complete it.

I'm ~50% of the way through the main story. I haven't started either dlc. This game is way more fun than I expected. It's a 3rd person shooter in a world where a plague has pretty much destroyed society, so gangs and military factions are all over the place.

I've been some time in DC where this game takes place and the map is a really good match up against the real DC. Visiting the Lincoln Memorial and the Mall can be a bit of a trip.

From a graphics standpoint, the game holds up really well for being a few years old. It's well optimized.

The music is okay but the default sound balancing is a bit off so you don't focus on it. I recommend changing the audio settings a little to tweak the balance.

The game play is good. I've only experienced the pve portion of the game to date but there is a pvp area. There are random gangs all over the place with world events, main story quests, side quests, settlements; you don't really run out of things to do.

I'm also playing multiplayer, which is a good experience. One of you can focus in on healing skills, or dps, or even tankier skills. That doesn't make a ton of sense given this is a 3rd person shooter. But, for instance, if you take the drone skill it can do all 3 of those things. There are revive grenades. Etc.

All in all, I do recommend this one especially while it's on sale.

I don't know how launch was 7 years ago. But damn i'm having an absolute blast in Division 2. If you love looter shooter games this is absolutely one of the better ones given how much stuff there is to unlock and collect and 3 maps to do it all in. Not to mention how friendly in quality of life stuff there is in here.

The shooting feels good and impactful enough, hitting the sweetspot between bullet spongy enemies like big armored juggernaut dudes, but easily killed in 1 - 6 bullets when it's just regular dudes or snipers. The only thing i got a problem with is the rather limp shooting sounds, and mods unfortunately are not allowed other than Re-Shade stuff.

Normally i absolutely despise crafting in a MMO. but they did it right here. As you basically collect maxed out stats and perks (Or the highest stat you sacrifice until you find better to upgrade the stat) Which you can then infinitely transfer across the armors and guns you unlocked it for. Basically you can make your own maxed out gear to an extent. Though sadly you can change only 1 thing about armor and guns which honestly should be done away with. Transmog also works the same way by just collecting the appearance once you get it to drop and becomes infinite use without cost. Armor and weapon dyes are also something you must either earn or have it randomly drop but again it's completely free and infinite use to do.

The microtransactions stuff is incredibly fair. As it's basically all cosmetics can be earned through freebie keys you get every 4 - 5 levels even at max level when the 'Watch Level' begins. And no it's not artifically slowed down either. You level crazy fast after hitting 40. You can also just buy individual pieces of outfits you see in the store which i haven't seen many if any games at all.

I'd still hope to see more specializations and new maps and new guns and all that being added to the game however. And since Battle For Brooklyn came out last year i have high hopes that this game might be hitting a new stride and hopefully with many more expansions and major updates to come.
