I decided write a rambly blog style update on what's going on in our life, so if you are interested in that, here it goes:

So, we, i.e. Kim, Barbara and the cats, are finally moving our studio, aka our home, to one of our dream locations!
Bye bye Kraków, we're going to live in a super cute village near the mountains.

Even though we are well prepared there's still a lot of moving work to do, so we can start up full steam in a few weeks. There's some bug solving to do, that will have to be delayed.

And...

To be honest, it wasn't always easy to work on our games dealing with severe cat illness.

We had our first cat, Miss Kitty, she got diagnosed with breast cancer. She was 15 years old and very healthy troughout her life, her blood test results were excellent, she still had all her teeth and those were also all healthy. Two weeks later from that last check up... I felt a little bump on her belly. Next day we brought her in, the vets were also very surprised as they had seen her 2 weeks before and she was doing so well for a 15 year old. We decided, as it was very fast diagnosed, we were going to treat her cancer immediately. She had a mastectomy straight away which she tolerated very well, as you can see, in this photo she is 3 days post surgery. What a beautiful luxurious void!

But only a month later I felt another bump in the exact spot where she got her first one, the cancer came back and with a huge vengeance. Even though the first histopathology result showed they removed all the cancer and it was in a super early stage, even though she had the mastectomy... There was nothing the vets could do, as her X ray showed she had multiple huge metastases everywhere. I will forever be grateful that they agreed to have her put to sleep at our place. In her home.

I was crushed as I knew this cat from when she was a tiny bottlebaby, fitting on the palm of my hand... Sometimes you can do everything right and still lose.

After some months passed, our second cat Khaleesi (we didn't name her this lol, she was 6 months old when we adopted her and didn't want to listen to anything else, queen) was starting to feel very lonely and we felt ready to add a new member to our family.

So on november 10th, we brought home a sweet 11 year old boy cat, who we renamed Gilgamesh. (In the shelter he was calles Gargamel, mean!) He did 8 months of hard time in the shelter, was always overlooked because of his looks and age, he had lost his eyesight in one eye and has scars on his ears from being bullied when he was homeless. Feral cats can be savage! But he got very lucky as he didn't contract FIV of FeLV. His eye needs to be removed though because it could develop cancer or glaucoma soon.

He is just the sweetest baby angel descended from heaven and we don't deserve his goodness. He has absolutely 0 agression or cheekiness in him, he is a perma kitten in character. An 11 year old babycat!

Somewhere before Christmas he got extremely unwell, after a full week of bringing him in every day to the vets (multiple clinics), sometimes even being admitted for a day, he got his diagnosis of *** (privacy people!). Treatment was awfull because he needed multiple shots daily and one of these shots was acid based so it hurt him a lot... But 5 months later we could stop his treatment and he's doing really well now, hopefully he won't relapse but this is only a small possibility. And he's now been a months without meds so chances on relapse go significantly down.

It took a while to get him off the meds because another sneaky little disease popped up that caused his blood test results to be bad. After being diagnosed with PLE as well and correcting his diet he is now finally almost healthy. I hope he can live his best life with us now, he deserves all the love and care in the world. I couldn't save my dear Miss Kitty but I saved my Gilgamesh.

Also, we have not one but 3 games in prototype right now, we'll see what we will anounce next.
When the move is over, Gilgamesh doen't relapse and I don't feel all over the place from cat health anxiety, working scatterbrained on multiple prototypes a day, I can take everything one day at a time.

Hint: they show up on your map on the shromphone as blue circles after 18h!

The game was already very relaxing but... there was something missing...
The sound of footsteps!
The sound of walking on crunchy ice, stepping in a puddle or rustling through some shrubs...
We added even more sounds to the game, play the demo or game now to find out!

All the maps in the phone have been updated too, it should be a lot easier to navigate in the game.
What else?
1) Corrected some spelling mistakes in Dutch.
2) Added a mystical sound when you approach a new mushroom, like the hot and cold game.
3) Corrected an LOD here and there.

After some tinkering we managed to increase the FPS by 20 to 30 frames!

We ran the updated game on a laptop with these specs:
-Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M
-8 GB ram
-Windows 8 with Intel core of 2.7 GHz

All settings on high (not epic) and it ran very smoothly.

• A bug that made the settings sliders pop right back to the standard settings by itself has been resoved.
  
• We have optimized some of the textures.
  
• Lots of foliage has 4 different levels of detail.
  
• Some little changes here and there!

Hello my dearest mushroom hunters!

We hope you will like our little demo we made for you. It will introduce you to the first 2 islands and will let you collect the first 6 mushrooms. If you reach the end of the demo you will exit the game automatically.

We also hope you'll immediately feel the relaxing effects of walking through these ambient islands.
If your brain needs a pause, if you've been feeling a bit stressed, try to concentrate on only finding the next mushroom. We hope it has the same relaxing effect on our players as it had on us, the devs!

Hi Folks!

We here at Space Pigeon Studios are super happy to introduce to you the final version of Shrommzzz for PC! It's been a year-ish since we first released here on Steam, which was so crazy looking back.
A little backstory coming up, skip to the next paragraph if you're not interested. Kim left a 6 year stint at another company to start this whole thing like 6 months before and Barbara could only run Unreal Engine on the absolute lowest settings while even Blender kept crashing. We had a few weeks left on our rental contract, the home was getting filled with boxes, and in the end we'd only find a new place days before deadline! We got banned on instagram 4 times in the months leading up to the release (which really screwed up our intents to promote this thing)... We couldn't start the company the way we wanted as our move from Belgium to Poland was causing both of us to be in administrative Limbo. But we persevered, put in the hours and especially the love. And pushed that release button! Life is better now, but that was one hectic period.

We realized it's a bit of a jungle out there too. So many games are getting released, yet here we are, also asking you for your time to play our little labour of love. Maybe we're biased, but 1 Year after release, we still get good vibes whenever we boot it up and secretly we hope a few of you can find the same peace and calm we do from our game.

And now it's hard to actually say this, but for us it's time to move on and work some more on the next ones. Tht doesn't mean we're not available for help, support, chit-chat and good vibes.

• Dutch and Polish translations are now available! The translations have been double triple proofread by a third party BUT if you find a spelling mistake, don’t hesitate to contact us! Translating a whole game has been harder than we thought, so let's give a round of applause to Barbara for pumping out +/- 16.000 words in 3 languages!!!
  
• There's a proper tutorial for more clarity. We noticed some people really had a problem finding the first mushroom or even not knowing what to do at all. Well, this shouldn’t be a problem now and you should get the hang of it pretty fast.
  
• Added more sounds, more ambience and there’s a surprise on iceland at night. hint: it's also in the new trailer.
  
• Candyland now has a colorful marshmallow paved path.
  
• Some overall tuning and improvements to the running, the toolring, the building and the decoration.
  
• The into has changed, made it a bit longer and now it's showing more scenic parts of the first island: which is basecamp
  
• And also a little bit of optimization for not-so-tough computers!
  
• Not in the game: added more info on the store page and made a new trailer

This is Shrommzzz 2.0, the final version, it is very different from when we first released it last year.
We are so proud to present this very first Space Pigeon Studios game, we will definitely present more!
