This game is a classic, and it's exactly how newer MMO's SHOULD play.

Full party required just to kill a bunny rabbit? Check.

Recruitable NPC's for when you're feeling anti-social? Check.

Towns that act like lobbies, but once you step outside, the world is a private instance for you and your friends (and/or NPC's)? And random idiots can't steal from you or get in your way? Check and check.

Combat that actually requires strategy instead of mindless, one-shot kill grinding? Check.

Unlimited respeccing and deep theory-crafting thanks to sub-classes and a limited skill load out? Possibly one of the biggest selling points.

Simply buy-to-play and no subscription or "freemium" crap? In this economy? Stop it, now you're just toying with me.

Try it. Get frustrated. Get addicted. Make friends who last a lifetime.

Current ArenaNet account can't be linked because it won't accept my CD key.
Can't create a new account because my CD key is already in use.

After googling, it would appear that other players have this issue as well.

Until this is fixed, and I encourage others to politely make their displeasure known, as this is an unacceptable level of incompetence, this negative review stays.

Way back when, I was in my local Comet shop, copy of Nightfall in my hand weighing up if I wanted to go for it. Dad was with me, cash in hand, ready to pull the trigger.

A member of staff noticed and approached me - "Ah, Guild Wars" she said "You know, it's like Gears of War but in an online fantasy style.".

That was it, I was sold. Got home, couldn't get it to work. Turns out Symantec didn't like it, but Dad fixed it. Sorted.

Loaded up and I was in. Quickly realised it was nothing like Gears of War.

I'll never forget that monumental mis-selling I was subject to.

Game's good BTW.

Despite the title being changed, most of the game is still identical to what it was back then. The same quirks, the same horrible collision map that only affects players (not enemies), the same everything. It's quite confusing to call this mess "Reforged" when it doesn't even have a proper engine upgrade.

Been playing since 2004. This game is a masterpiece on every level.
