This game is garbage. No item box, no inventory upgrades, flying bosses that are impossible to hit and SPAWN MINIONS, the list goes on.
Let me paint a picture for you now: you are low hp on both characters, and the female (lower defense) character must fight a boss alone. You cannot beat the boss on that low hp, so you need your male character to run back to grab healing items (again, no item box).
IN doing so, he must fight dumb stun locking apes to get to a mansion where whip tentacle monsters will molest you, leaving you on 1hp, and you have to reset your save tens of times, each time taking a little under 40 seconds to initialize, just to make it back to fight that garbage boss, where you will probably, again, need multiple attempts because the boss flies off screen with no discernable attack pattern before swooping in and either grabbing you, or swiping at you, while its hellspawn min bats rage and nibble at your already weak character's health.
Did anyone at Capcom even bother to play this?
It's not all bad, obviously, but in general the enemies can hit too frequently (literally combo-stunlocking you), and the no item box and no inventory space makes this game difficult in an unrewarding way,

Part of me wants to glaze this game while the other part wants to point out all its flaws. Overall its a very fun and interesting game, story is enjoyable and it still holds up almost a decade later. Butttt it is very difficult to overlook the fact inventory management is ridiculous for no reason. Having multiple 2 slot weapons when you are limited to 6 slots leads to lots of backtracking (which I suppose is apart of the RE experience). Gameplay is difficult and the true boss is the camera as always. All in all this is a must play game if you are a RE fan as it precedes RE1 and even with everything that might seem like a problem with the game, it is very enjoyable!

This game could have been better, but its really frustrating most of the time. First of all, theres no item box so you have to make sure youre able to go back to where you left most stuff you cant carry. You must also know which character faces what boss, so you can make sure to keep the best weapons on the right character. Had to go back to older saves just cause the better weapons were on the other character. Really hoping for a remake in the same engine as the newer remakes.
