I recently started playing the Monkey Island series again after many years, and it truly feels like a journey back in time. The entire saga has a unique charm that very few adventure games have managed to replicate. For me, Monkey Island 3 – The Curse of Monkey Island is without question the best entry in the series.

The hand-drawn art style is timeless, the music is instantly memorable, and the humor strikes a perfect balance between clever, absurd, and genuinely charming. Guybrush Threepwood remains one of the most lovable characters in gaming history, and the dialogue still manages to make me laugh even after multiple playthroughs.

What makes the third game so special is its perfect balance of puzzles, storytelling, and humor. The puzzles are logical without ever feeling unfair, and the story stays engaging and entertaining from start to finish. You can really feel the attention to detail and the love the developers put into every scene.

For anyone who enjoys classic adventure games or is simply looking for a game full of personality, Monkey Island — and especially the third installment — is an easy recommendation. Even today, it stands as a great example of how timeless good game design and great writing can be.

I have loved this game since I was 7 years old, playing it on my desktop and becoming so enamored with it and all its beauty. Almost 30 years later, playing again has truly filled my heart and soul- its not only nostalgic for me but its the greatest game I have ever played to this day, STILL! I love everything about this game.
