After tons of internal testing on it, we want to give the Source FIlmmaker and Garrys mod automation a beatdown on the main server before launch. We need to enable it per account. If anyone has time tomorrow (Weds) to throw a bunch of rigs at it, we can open your acct up to the feature.

We will need to hammer on it pretty good so we'll open your acct up to the starter subscription (unlimited Fuse rigs) for the duration of the test and you can have the animations that come with it and access to our character library as our thank you.

To get access to this, email fuse@mixamo.com from your mixamo acct email and we'll open it up. Again, we just need this for tomorrow (Weds).

Hey all,

I'm excited to announce the immediate availability of the Fuse 1.3 beta! During the next couple of weeks, we'll be working hard to shake out any bugs that we find during this beta period. I write to you from Mixamo headquarters. It is foggy outside in San Francisco, but inside the office, it is full of glorious new Fuse builds. Here I present the changelist for this evening's Beta drop. Thanks all for helping check out the new release of Fuse. Please be sure to post any findings to the Beta discussions. loading virtual asset characters from the main content directory now correctly loads the substance preset
all virtual assets now use the same base ID, so none of the virtual assets need to exist to open a .fuse file
made substance "Rename" popup a dialog which prompts for the name, ditched the editable text field
fixed substance compositing when there's no torso
made hidden geo cast no shadows
better undo for blendshapes (sliding and undoing now undoes the slide, not a random increment)
added more warnings/errors to import process for bad OBJs
body substance: eyelash fringe is now better
body substance: normal maps at 2k no longer have crosshatch pattern
body substance: fingernail color is now based on skin tone
content: TF2 shininess has been reduced
clothing substance: fixed an issue with normal maps caused by transparency

Hey guys and gals,

Fuse 1.2 RC2 is up. Please give it a whirl and let us know what you find. Changelist since last Friday's build:

FuseImportTools: updated so downRes is 2k
Importing characters without UVs now fails with a message describing the issue
Added "Shirt" to tags in appropriate clothing items
Print stderr of FuseImportTools after run completes - errors/warnings when no UVs, and extra or stray vertices.
Better experience when clothing is missing
Virtual assets now use the original asset ID, so save files do not require the virtual asset
Substance undo/redo improvements
Fixed panning

Fuse 1.2 Beta is now available!
Howdy volunteers! Who's ready to fire up that beta testing engine!!

To activate the beta version of Fuse 1.2 for your Steam account, right-click Fuse and go to properties. Go to the BETAS tab, and enter the code mixamo-fuse-next. Click "Check Code" and once it is verified, select the beta from the drop down menu, and SHAZAM! Fuse Beta!

New stuff:
Virtual Assets - Create character and clothing presets, customize your library! Make a character, hit the Star button at the top, and watch as that character is turned into a Fusible asset!

2k Textures - It's true!! Hi-res for your pleasure! By default textures are set to 1k for speed, enable 2k in the substance menu

Advanced Skin Substance - Looks super good! 3x the number of customization options! Get crazy!

Realistic lighting and PBR shading - Just makes stuff look goooooood

Facial Animation Blendshapes - Ok, so here's the thing. The blendshapes are generated and packed in the character FBX after autorigging, so it happens on the server. This feature isn't available on our production server yet, so blendshapes won't be available until probably next week. But when they are, any Fuse character you upload can have a standard set of face shapes created automatically, in like 30 seconds. It's nuts.

We would greatly appreciate feedback on these big features and all the other updates and improvements. Anything we may have missed? Let us know!

Also be sure to rattle around all of the existing features to make sure nothing got borked along the way.
