I liken the decline of Radio Shack to the decline of the educational system and lack of people with the intelligence to DIY as far as electronics is concerned. How many people even know what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soldering iron is? Need a HF crossover for your car stereo system? I can make one myself.

Back in the 90s they started selling ready made gadgets and toys and were heavy into the cell phone market. Any time I went to sort around for odd small electronics parts there was always a long line for people paying for something to do with their phones. When they saw me with a handful of resistors, capacitors diodes or other small components they couldn't believe it. It was as if they were thinking "Someone actually buys this stuff?". Umm, yeah, I have a hobby and interests other than the vapid ♥♥♥♥ most people are drowning in. Most people don't have hobbies. How many people know how to check/change the oil in their cars? How many check the tire air pressure or are able to put on a spare tire?

The beauty of Radio Shack was you could go there and get the parts and have them in hand. Sure, you can order small electronics parts online but you don't really know what you got until in hand. What if it's not what you want/need? There was Radio Shack's niche. They sold some pretty cool Realistic speakers for cheap but people don't have real stereo sound systems any longer; they have surround sound systems for their entertainment systems that may have a receiver and CD player connected. I got some really cool bookshelf speakers back in the 90s for 1/2 price and no one makes that type of speaker any longer. I pair them with my AR4s and it sounds beautiful. most people's idea of music is headphones and a cell phone. ♥♥♥♥ that I want to move air. Back when people used antennas for TV RS sold real antennas. I still use one but can't find the particular model RS use to carry; a commercial version of a Gray-Hoverman that sucks in digital channels like nothing else. Want to see true HDTV? Go visit someone who doesn't have satellite or cable. Over the air TV is the bomb and I hav convinced several people to do so over the years. Better picture for free. NFL never looked so good.

Modern society doesn't deserve Radio Shack because they have their heads up their asses playing with their cell phones. The guy narrating this video sounds like a cell phone mastubater because he doesn't know what Radio Shack was other than what he is reading from the paper in front of him. Radio Shack went tits up because the general public got stupid over the past 50 years. I need to go to the one up the road for some of their good quality banana plugs before they shut down.

i guess it's not really that the image boards dropped in quality and lost integrity, it's that the internet as a whole did by shifting so rapidly from being an anti-normie hobby to something that anyone can access from absolutely anything, even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ refigerators have computers built into the door so you can post on 8chan while you're cooking dinner with your wife and kids. nowhere is safe on the internet.

Valve is going to emplement a new feature called Steam Escrow. THIS IS HORRIBLE!

'What is Escrow?', After a trade has been accepted by both parties, if either party's account has not been secured by the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator, then to protect against unauthorized trades, the traded items will be placed in escrow. During the escrow period, the items will not be available to either user. This allows users who have not secured their accounts to cancel any unauthorized trades and recover their items. Canceling all pending and in-escrow trades will place a trading hold on your account for a few days to prevent any further unauthorized attempts to trade away items.

This period of Escrow is 3 days, Thats right. You can't complete trades if you dont have this authenticator!

TL;DR: Steam is adding a "escrow." Basically, if one person who trades items via steam to another user is not using mobile authentication, the trade has a cooldown until it goes through, which would destroy trading and a number of community sites.

And websites that use bots for trading? You can say goodbye to all of that! This will permenately DESTROY alot of websites and services that use bots for trading purposes, such as Scrap.TF, TF2WH, and many more.

Ideas grow stronger as a person acknowledges them. I would know pretty well too, cause (I'm pretty sure) I have OCD. I realized that as I pushed away thoughts that I didn't want to have, I just had them even more, and stronger than before. So, I realized that, and came up with a way to deal with the OCD, and I later found out that that is actually the same method that they already use to treat OCD, which is to basically just ignore it. The more someone acknowledges an idea, the more power it has in their mind. Let's say that they resist the idea of homosexuality as strongly as they can, and they try to force those thoughts out of their head, well that sounds counterproductive. It's like, they don't want to think about an elephant, and in doing so, they keep thinking about it. Or, they WANT to think about an elephant, and they also think about it. The only way to stop that idea, is to just ignore it. Just don't acknowledge it. That's how it is. The heterosexual or homosexual idea is an identity, right? It's an idea that goes a lot deeper. It's become a part of how they view themselves. So, it's a VERY strong idea. In order for it to go away, it's going to take a long time to lose its power in their mind. You know how addicts take a long time to get over their addiction, and even then, they're still prone to it? Well, it's because it had a very strong hold on them, and it took time for it to lose its power. Addictions are primarily an action though, so the way to deal with those are mainly to stop the action. Sexuality is in a persons mind, so it takes a different way of thinking, instead of just stopping an action. They both take time to change though. For another example, you know that stereotype about those people that are so adamantly against homosexuality, and then they end up being a homosexual? Well, maybe it's because of the phenomenon that I'm talking about. I mean, it's probably often just wishful thinking of some people who simply hate people that don't comply with their agendas, but stereotypes usually don't come from nowhere either. So, with all that said, I think that, if someone wanted to ever change from being a homosexual, it's best if they don't fear being a homosexual. If it weighs on their emotions, then that will cause them to acknowledge the idea, and it will become stronger. If, on the other hand, they drop homosexuality as their identity, and they adopt heterosexuality as their identity instead, and then just let their identity solidify itself over time, then I think they might be able to become a heterosexual. Of course, they'll have to adopt whatever else they attribute to being heterosexual characteristics too, which might just simply be that they find the opposite sex to be sexually attractive, but it should also include anything else that they personally attribute to being heterosexual characteristics, cause they need to really embrace the idea that they're a heterosexual. It's just 'this is who I am now'. On the other hand, if they couldn't accept that, or they still saw themselves as a homosexual, then it wouldn't work, cause they would still have the homosexual identity. Therefor, a person MUST believe that it's POSSIBLE to change from being a homosexual, if they want to change from being a homosexual.
