game stinks balance sucks, campaign will save the game, community is half cool half lobotomites

(edit; i've met some lovely people through the community, however, the game is completely cooked and probably impossible to balance given its current state. i don't wish to blame the dev, as she works hard on what she does and i have only respect for her; that said, the choice of mentors and testers is completely based on ego and has no relation to whether or not they actually mentor or test. a number of well known members of the community were denied applications to become new player mentors due to the mod team having beef with them, and a number of the loudest voices of testers simply don't play the game at all. check out their hours on steam! 0.0 the last two weeks. one of the loudest testers attended a total of 1 game in the testing phase for the carrier update, and one of the only helpful permanent testers lost their status as a tester due to the moderation team having beef with them. this game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks but i'm obligated to leave a review because the community is the most important part of this game. also, the game is more dead than an rts from 20 years ago)

Woah, a review for this game in 2024?
The last update was in 2022, with radio silence from the dev since. It's a fun couple of hours, but certainly not worth 20 USD. Take your money to a different early access fly-em-up. If you do buy Aggressor, know that it's quite incomplete, and really only as fun as you can make it. Stay safe.
EDIT 1/17/26: The game got an update! The core gameplay is the same, but pretty much everything got overhauled. It's still an indie game, and still pretty incomplete, but it's a lot of fun. Maybe not worth 20 bucks, but you'll certainly get your money's worth if you're a fan of Ace Combat/PW
