I got bored of the 5 hour tutorial but it's probably a good game

It is soooooo f####ing slooooow, they turned a tick from being a day to being an hour so the game is 24 times slower. It takes 30 hours of gameplay to reach 1500, I do not have the patience to play this game after 3.7k hours in EU4, I don't know If I'll ever play this game unless they speed it up significantly. It is just unplayably slow.

Damn, this update and DLC are actually really good. I love the new diplomacy and treaty system, definetly better than "diplomatic play" system that was supposed to do this at release. Love the new company improvements and bonuses.New trade system is really good, suffering in the late game because you didnt annex half of the oil regions in the world is no longer an issue. Infamy generation seems more sensible also.

One criticism I have is that it feels like economic growth has been nerfed once again. I always play laissez faire and none of the states I don't manually build on have buildings or good standard of living even in the late game. Literacy increase feels nerfed also. Please stop slowing the game down.

The new right click UI made me stop playing, also the construction speed has been reduced so much that the game is 10% the speed of launch.

I don't understand this dlc and I don't think civil wars are a normal part of legislation but I'm sure it will make sense later

I can't wait to see how great of a game this will end up being in 3 years time. For the time being it is a pretty flat button clicking simulator where you always become the richest country on the planet by 1880 even if you start as hunter gatherers eating mud pies while Britain does absolutely nothing.

Sphere of Influence update:

In line with pdx games getting even worse after an update like HOI4 and the navy update, Vic3 is now significantly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ after Sphere of Influence.

Alright, the game is fun. It still lacks depth, here are some major flaws in the game

-Lack of rural-urban population divide

-States are enormous, cities are meaningless as states are the only division

-Population growth is nowhere near as important or high as it is supposed to be

-Tech tree is unbalanced, some techs are completely meaningless. Productivity growth basically stops once you reach 26 SoL and you stagnate forever

-Trade is broken, you need to have resources yourself

-No world wars, no league of nations, no mandates, no Globalization,

-Germany rarely forms,

-No Ottoman flavour at all

-Goofy ass culture groups basically ensure that all the Balkan peoples mass emigrate to USA in 1836 lol

-Assimilation is busted and shallow

-Oil is horrible, unless you conquer a bunch of oil areas you have 0 hope of having any oil, you cant import it. What did Japan and Germany do irl Paradox?

-Literally every country plays the same

-Interest groups are too generic, idology and interest groups should vary wildly between countries.You can't just rename aristocrats to represent something else entirely in another country.

-Elections are meaningless, no local ideology or party alignment at all

-Migration is extremely busted in the late game when literal millions in and out instantly

-No Berlin Congress

-Colonisation is goofy and creates border gore

Why can I review this game I never bought it wtf

For all its faults and flaws and just how much New Vegas puts this game to ♥♥♥♥, it is still a fun, albeit simple game, best played before New Vegas so your palette doesn't get used to the fine wine that is New Vegas. The writing and main story is a solid 2/10. Enclave and BoS being in the capital wasteland was a pathetic afterthought made to bring in older fans. Just focus on exploring in random directions and carving out your own story, Bethesda's many shortcomings can be fixed with mods to a certain limited degree. Still for the definitive Fallout3 experience just use Tale of Two Wastelands as not only does New Vegas have a much larger and up-to-date mod library but also New Vegas runs much better on Windows 10 and has a more stable and functional engine that modders have perfected with plug-ins that are simply not possible in Fallout3.

Buy it, it's cheap and fun. Still inferior to New Vegas in everyway.
