I don't think it deserves the hate it's getting.

But it's lost some of its charm that's for sure. its the little things. Being able to get more ammo from the commando on your team. being able to get another grenade from your demo. The roar of a fleshpound spawning in. Sure the roar is there somewhat. but its not as big. currently there can be 3 fleshpounds cruising around and half your team is oblivious because they are just unaware of it.


Not having ammo drops scattered around the map to resupply your guns and nades through the waves is just an odd choice. having it tied to resupplying each wave. granted this is how 2 was too. there is none of that '♥♥♥♥ im out of ammo. let me kite to an ammo crate so i can finish these off'

Perks are another thing. The perks in 2 were so meaningful. you got to level 5 and you felt that increase of power. each 5 levels you felt that bump in power. example of this would be the zerka. you almost felt unbreakable as a level 25 zerka. but once you prestiged. you were stripped of all that power as you leveled again. But the perks in 3 just seem underwhelming. small bursts of power. getting another grenade as your level 10 bump just doesnt give what level 10 did in 2.

Another odd design choice is having each character tied to a class. i get the thought process. seeing a mr foster and youll be able to go 'that's a commando' without even thinking but 2 had so many different characters. you could chop and choose. you wanted a skully running around with a baseball bat going 1v1 with a fleshpound you could. just having each character tied to a class means your forced to play someone you don't want to if thats the class you want to run.



So many small changes to 3 and it can become great. on par with 2. but the design choice currently feels like it doesnt know what it wants to be yet. it's like its killing floor trying to be payday.
