So I decided to give this indie space 4X game a go.

It plays very quick and is very playable and satisfying.

Yes it does have indie production values but the devs are super cool and responsive bringing out updates every few minutes...er...maybe not that frequently but it feels like it...

Anyway im super excited for this games future and hope that it does really well.

Its fun and playable.

Hey all !

Just my review for this recently released game.

Initially found the graphics very 90s but once you get used to them it adds to the games charm.

The game play is excellent and I love the fact that you start as a lowly commander without any property to speak of.

However in the tutorial it guides you in acquiring your first hamlet and the rest as they say dear reader is history.

I do Believe the devs have a potentially great game here.

I hope they continue to add to it and with time this could be a fantastic game set in the renaissance.

Good work devs and thanks.

P.S Its worth every cent for so much gameplay.

Wow...what a great game. I'm hooked.

Very satisfying game play and so far bug free as far as I can tell.

Worth every penny and therefore I highly recommend. Only £6.71 for me. A bargain.

Very re-playable as well due to the procedural map generation.
Will be on the lookout for more from this dev that's for sure.

Let me tell you a story dear reader...

Centuries ago in the dim dark past a small studio released a game called Supreme Ruler 2010 published by Strategy Plus games I believe.

Well ok I think it was published in 2005....but it seemed like 1705..ahem....anyway it was a global strategy game set in the modern era where you had to use diplomacy, force and espionage to dominate the world.

It was all in real time...

Well now Supreme Ruler 2030 has arrived and it is really addictive. I cant really explain why but this draws you in as you struggle to balance your economy, security and defend your national borders at the same time.

I especially like how up to date it is with the portraits of the national leaders. The 2023 start even has the Russia-Ukraine war.

For good or bad you can play as any nation.

This iteration of the game has a much improved interface and upgraded graphics. Although to the kinda gamer that plays this, graphics are of secondary importance.

For you see my dear readers...its gameplay where this magnificent game stands out. So much gameplay I fear my brain may explode !!...er...maybe not but to put it this way...even when im at work im thinking of new strategies to try out when I get back home to this brilliant game.

A couple of cons though...there are a couple of minor bugs which are being squashed as we speak. Also the dev dudes are really responsive.

Only yesterday I asked in discussions regarding a tutorial bug and within 15 minutes the dev responded with a couple of suggestions. Excellent stuff.

Also the game is in active development and im sure in time this game will get better and better.

So do yourself a favour my fellow megalomaniacs and get this fantastic title.
You wont regret it. !!

A recent update also fixed the chapter 1 tutorial bug....Hooray !!! You can now complete the tutorial.

Thanks dev dudes.

I first saw this game a couple of weeks ago and I put it on my wish list to buy.

I then promptly forgot about it but then it was on sale at 50% off so I decided to buy it at once.

I'm glad I did because although it is a simple war game at first glance it has that one more turn factor to see if you can beat the other side.

It is really a board war game with square counters just like the old Avalon Hill and SPI games of old.
I really have enjoyed this and I cant understand how so few people have got this.

The AI is capable and victory is hard to get. I played the Romans at first next time I'm gonna take the Carthaginians.

This system could also apply to other battles and Id love to see that happen.

The only criticism I have is that if you press the right mouse button it ends the current phase you are in thus resulting in you not firing during the missile phase or melee phase. I'm not sure if this is a bug or intentional.

Anyway I heartily recommend this great little game as it will give you quite a few hours of turn based war gaming in the ancient era.

Kudos to the dev who is bringing this rather niche product to Steam.

So buy it and hopefully he will create other games based on different battles from history.

P.S I would not be disappointed if I paid full price for this game as I believe it is good value for money. I just forgot to purchase it sooner.

Thanks for reading this.

Somewhere in England.....

"Hey daddy I wanna be an astronaut when I grow up !"

"That is wonderful Jimmy. So you like Space exploration ?"

"Yes daddy I love space stuff"

"Well in that case son why don't you play Interstellar Space: Genesis by Praxis Games ?.
It is a space 4X where you get to develop a huge space empire by building up ,your colonies and meeting other races and becoming their friend, or enemy."

"Is it easy to play daddy?"

"Oh yes my boy. It has an easy to navigate interface with a lot of information without frying your still developing little brain. Also it has released two very interesting DLC at the moment with a third about to be released at a very reasonable price. This game really does deserve more attention from people because it is an undiscovered gem. In fact I would say its a fantastic game and the turn based combat is really detailed. It also has a fully procedural galaxy, so you have a different experience each playthrough and you can cutomize your race. In fact there is so much here that it should keep you occupied for quite some time. Jimmy ....!! you awake ?"

"Zzzzzzzz....."

"Oh well I suppose I will give the game a go now while the little cherub is asleep. For you see dear reader.....I AM TRULY A HOMICIDAL SPACE EMPEROR WHO WILL TAKE OVER THE GALAXY BY ANY MEANS POSSIBLE....MUAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA....er anyone fancy a toasted cheese sandwich and some biscuits ?"

''Hey daddy im bored can I take over something ?''
''Well how about the world my little cherub ?''
''Naw I was thinking something bigger like....the galaxy !!''
''In that case my little tyrant I suggest Galactic Ruler by BattleGoat games.'.....''

Ok thats enough cobblers lets get down to the review my darlings.

Galactic ruler is a 4X game using a similar interface to the Supreme Ruler games.
You start as one of 16 races on a single homeworld and you have to expand from there.
Initially you dont even have ftl travel so you have to research it.
You cant even see outside your starting solar system till you get the required tech.

The game is quite good and it can only get better with updates from the active developer dudes.

I personally love this game and I fully intend on playing it much more but at the moment I have to go to work.

I really believe that this game is gonna be a true classic eventually.

So in summary I really recommend it to budding galactic tyrants like my 7 year old genius son.
Any way lets see how hes doing shall we ?.....

''Hey son how ya doing ?''

''I just built an orbital station daddy so I can build more ships. There is a malignant alien presence that must be purged from my solar system.''

''Cant you live in peace and harmony with them and share technology for the greater benefit of both races my lovely boy ?''

''Naw I cant be bothered with that daddy. I just want them dead. They look funny with their 8 eyes and two heads.''

''But thats no reason to destroy them is it ?''

''No daddy but im adhering to my philosophy of peace through war. They must be destroyed. plus they smell funny.' Also I want to build a chain of fast food restaurants on their planet.''

''Haha thats my lovely psychotic capitalist megalomaniac child.''

''Exactly daddy. I love you.''

''I love you too cherub.''

Woke up this morning....der ner ner ner....I did some roaming...der ner ner ner.....wanted to take over the world.............

Who am I kidding im never gonna be a blues singer.

Anyway the real reason Im here is my review for Supreme Ruler Ultimate.

If you have played previous games in this brilliant series you know what to expect....if not well you are in for a real treat.
You can choose to play one of hundreds of countries...hey maybe even billions and....er ok maybe not billions but quite a lot anyway.

Sandbox mode is great and you can steer your nation and change the course of history.
Imagine a world where Iphones are outlawed and anyone using Facebook could be executed...well guess what my brethren you probably cannot do this but you can do a lot of other evil stuff.

Or you can be a force for good and create peace via the tried and tested method of war.
It really is an intricate and detailed game but you also have lotsa computer advisors who can carry out your master plan for you.

You just give your little gophers their orders....like ''Go get me a coffee from Starbucks.''....or ''Go and kill the president of that democratic country who insulted me last week at the local car boot sale,''. You know stuff like that.

Anyway all im saying is play this brilliant game. You wont regret it.

Lotsa love...your brother from another mother my beautiful readers.....xxx

Hey I have not paid this game as much attention as the original Warplan game but I have had a dabble and so far its impressive.

The map is huge with an easy to read font and the counters, NATO or Sprite are really clear and easy on the eye.

The gameplay itself is great with land battles, aircraft carriers and a great supply system.

You can play the whole pacific war from start to finish and thats really gonna take a long time to finish.
The manual is quite detailed which is refreshing nowadays with lotsa games having no manual.

So my brethren I urge you to all give this wonderful game a go especially if you enjoyed Warplan.

Much love till next time. X
