Dark Souls (kind of) PvPvE extraction. Devs are on top of balance and bug fixes and communicate well with the playerbase. I am 150 hours in and still having fun. The game has a bright future

This is by far one of the best multiplayer games to come out in the last 15 years.
Dark and Darker is an adrenaline-filled dungeon delving experience where everything (both A.I. and players) can easily kill you but if you manage to make it out alive with all of your loot it is the most rewarding feeling in gaming to date in my opinion. Level up each of your characters (which each have a unique class identity), build your wealth, and venture further into more terrifying areas of the dungeon or focus on PvP. Play in either the solo mode or in a team, both have their own flavor of fun.

Since the game went into early access last year, the devs have done content or balance patches almost weekly, they are very active and are very above average when it comes to communicating with the player-base. I have seen so many changes in just a single year with the game it looks very different to when I firsted started playing in the early playtests.

The negative reviews are mostly people that take issue calling the game "free to play" instead of "free demo." Though I will say, this is the most content I have ever seen a free demo offer. The free version of this game has more content than 90% of free to play games that I have personally played.

Give it a try for free. If you like it, its the most bang for your buck you are going to get. Unlimited hours of game-play to be had.
