Between pushing leftist political ideology, and janky crafting and gadgets like the supremo backpacks.. Ubisoft really killed the franchise. Sad day, I'll just go back to playing FC2 and 3.

Arma Reforger First Impressions: A Gritty, Glorious Clusterf— of Tactical Fun.

The Good, The Bad, and The Machinegunned
Jumped into a vanilla realism server, picked RU faction, and spawned directly into chaos: heli fire, MG nests, and a wood line that might as well have been a meat grinder. Died four times in 10 minutes before our base got overrun. Classic Arma baptism by fire.

Learning Curve? More Like Learning Cliff
After respawning at a distant point, I fumbled with the UI (functional but needs polish) to tweak my loadout and test building mechanics. Spawned a truck, drove toward a FOB, and stumbled into a squad of PS5 players who taught me spawn radios and match flow. Shoutout to those legends—10/10 group of tards.

Weapon Porn: Cold War Edition
Grabbed my SVD/AK74u combo (as an IRL owner of both, I’m legally obligated to nitpick). The PSO rangefinder is chef’s kiss—easily landed 500-yard kills thanks to its real-steel accuracy. The wood finishes? Gorgeous. Bakelite textures? Needs work. Bohemia, please add the AK47/M and RPD—the Cold War ran on 7.62x39, not just 5.45! I’ll begrudgingly tolerate mods for this… maybe.

Performance & Vibes
My 2070 Super handled high settings smoothly—no complaints. Ballistics feel weighty, weapon handling is snappy, and the sound design had me ducking IRL during artillery strikes. Played for 3 hours straight; no crashes, just pure ”one more push” addiction.

A Plea to Bohemia (From a Grizzled Arma Vet)
As someone who’s survived the jank of CWA, A2, and A3: Don’t screw up the DLC. This game’s sales will print money—don’t fracture the community with paid content. Free DLC keeps players hooked, attracts modders, and builds the cult following this franchise deserves. Break the corporate mold. Be better.

Verdict
Reforger nails the Arma spirit: punishing, immersive, and infinitely rewarding with the right squad. It’s rough around the edges (UI, textures), but the foundation? Rock-solid. If you’re here for unapologetic realism and stories that start with ”So I got domed by a guy named ‘MILSIM_DAD69’…”—welcome home.

Score: 8/10 (Docked points for no RPD… yet.)

Early Access Review
We've only been waiting 10 years for NPCs and have only gotten VERY minor changes over the last 5 years. Development has been slacking for years now, probably busy stuffing down sweetrolls rather than actually developing. It's wild that a single modder can do more in 2 months of development than the entire dev team can do in 5 years. Great game, thanks to mods. No thanks to the Devs, as they haven't done jack but ♥♥♥♥ for the last 5 years.
