Best game oat

The dlc was great, and all the bosses are great, especially Messmer. But the last bossfight is hot garbage. Such a poor way to send off two of the coolest characters in the game and the lore.
The first phase of the boss is fine, even quite easy, but the second phase is just a load of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mixed together to create a boss that is just difficult for the sake of being difficult.

Good concept, poor execution. Feels way too slow atm, (and thats when you actually get in to a game without getting kicked due to "server desynchronization".).

This game is super unfinished, in all ways. The game is super unoptimized, laggy and just annoying to play at times, sometimes me and my friends would lag through the map, and not being able to die or reset, lose all our progress due to not saving beforehand. The npcs were pretty unfinished, as Kelvin would chop down our treehouse, and Virginia just didnt shoot the enemies with the gun that we gave her. I found the game very uninteractive as for example, Virginia didnt need anything to trust us, she just did all of a sudden, we didnt even have to find her, but she just came to us randomely when we were building our base. The ending variations were super wierd as all of us seemed to have different endings, i saw Kelvin, my second friend saw virgina, and my third friend didnt see any of them. There were atleast 160 gaps in the story which left us all unsatisfied. There were 4 cutscenes in the entire game, and none of them except the ending and starting one felt impactful. The sled sucked, and wasnt really used for anything, except jumping down mountains not taking any fall damage, and either way there is an exploit while clicking B for the building book, used to not take any fall damage and glide 10x more effectively than the sled. But without a doubt, the worst part of the entire game was the unpolished story. There was no explanation as to how the Puffton family was relevant to the story. No explanation for the Sahara and Puffton bidding war. No explanation for why they warshipped the cube. No explanation as to why and what we wanted to go inside the cube for, except a wierd society that was just futuristic and didnt offer anything to us except a cool view ig? The story also contradicts the story of The forest 1, since they have completely different ways of describing why and how mutants come to be. The Forest 1 was just better in every single way. They made the game seem religious and scientific and the same time which just confuses the ♥♥♥♥ out of you. The story just didnt make any sense. Why were there demons, the demons are not related to the mutants, since the mutants dont burn by the cross. And no boss fights? Like come on, atleast ONE boss fight, after two years of delays. We didnt even get to end our playthrough because the game did not specify that if we pick our backpack in the ending, we are not allowed to escape with the helicopter. And since when you die, to get ur gear back, you have to pick ur backpack, we obviously thought that we somehow had lost our gear, and therefore needed to pick it up again, and then escape. But no, the game just ended and Edward Puffton just flew away, without us even getting to do anything about it. And who was the guy with the silver clothes that kept following us, and how was he relevant to the story?
Idk i just think the game was so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ confusing, laggy and just unfinished in every regard. If you are going to delay the release date for two years, make ur fans super excited and then release a ♥♥♥♥ game, for 30€, why not just delay it again and fix everything so the game actually is satisfying and fun. If the gameplay is going to be this laggy, and unoptimized, why not just focus on making a good story and ending for the players to engage in? Imo almost none of this game was worthy of the hype that has brewed up over these years that we have spent waiting for the game, and i could mention atleast 500 things more that annoyed about the experience, but i dont want my review to be longer than the essays that i write in school.
The only good thing about this game is that the bugs are so damn stupid, that me and my friends had a good laugh at times because of it. The survival aspect was fine aswell ig. Please just fix the game with the following updates and we might give it another go in 2025, expecting that it will take atleast another 2 years for them to fix everything that makes this game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥.
