Ignore the haters complaining about P2W in a PVE game with no true winstate.
Like, yeah, FDev have had some issues (I am not the happiest with the current Colonization nerfs, for example), but FDev at least seems to listen when you yell at them.

Can highly recommend the game as a semi-background thing. Get a playlist and go spacetruckin' or exploring.

Extremely good character creator for basic references.
In about half an hour I created one for a Yinglet character of mine so that I could put it into a commission.
Customization options are good and easy to use.
If you need a reference for a Yinglet character, I can highly recommend.

This game already really grabbed my attention and I've been enjoying it a ton. The best way I can describe it is [Titanfall + HALO + a bit of TF2].
TL;DR? Absolutely give it a try.


Firstly: Protogen. Just like those funny toaster beans.
Secondly: The gameplay. The movement (or, as I've been calling it, schmovement) is great. A bit jank at places (it's still being worked on, so ofc), but you can really REALLY get up to speed and be an annoying little bastard. Almost all of the guns feel really good (the pump shotgun feels weak, and the LMG has admittedly insane range and damage). You can even rocket jump. Sprinting, sliding, wall-running, and more all result in really fluid movement as you do all of them to maximize your speed.
Thirdly: The customization. Everything is unlocked in-game with currency (Chips) that you get after each match. It doesn't take too long to unlock the looks that you want. My only complaint is that there's no way to preview the items (or voices) on your character before getting them. I'd be fine with just voice previews.

Grab some friends and throw in some bots and you'll have a great time.

Update - 7/9/25
The previous changes to the Mystic class (and many other things) were reverted and undone. The class now feels fast and playable again. The weird limits to abilities were also removed. The previous review will be kept, because there's still issues (a lot of which stem from a lack of communication).

Atlyss Update Thoughts - 7/8/25:

- removed my abilities
- deleted many of my items and skills
- destroyed my build
- deleted every enchantment I had
- new maps are nice-looking but extremely empty and far too big
- mystic got nerfed to the ground (fast and light > slower than immobile)
- new hotbars are awkward to use
- 4 combat / 2 support per hotbar is limiting and annoying
- new skill system has removed all customization
- bandit doesn't even have subclasses
- can't change subclass, therefor requiring ANOTHER NEW CHARACTER
- reset all of my buttons and settings
- again, destroyed my character that I had spend at least 15 of my 35 hours on grinding for what I deemed perfect

Y'all know why. EAC is the problem.

Edit: EAC has literally made it impossible for two of my friends to play the game. One uses a VM, and one instant-crashes now.

I had remembered that I had this on my account after I finished a game. Now, this game was recent... I had finally gotten a Spirit Stone victory, and while I stood in the castle, I heard a music playing, one that was not the usual O' King, O' Leige. It was more... magical. Empowering. The fact that I could not find it in my purchase of the soundtrack saddened me, as it was the most powerful song I had heard in the enitre time. If I could find it, I would feel... So happy, but, alas, this is all that I have. Still, it is a wonderful and powerful soundtrack that I recommend for all who enjoy magical and spiritual musics.

It's just music files.

This game... Oh, this game...
This is a truely beautiful game.
The soundtrack is amazing, the gameplay is great, and it even has modding support already!
If you have $15 to spend, get this game. If you pkayed Terraria or Minecraft, this is quite like them (more so Terraria), but with way more content, Borderlands-like weapons (Randomly generated awesomeness!), and an amazing community!
And, if you wish to have mods, or change your gameplay up a but, there are plenty of mods out there already on the Nexus and Forums.
