This game just isn’t very fun.

I gave this game two chances, playing with a friend both times, but neither of us could really figure out what the point was. The base-building system feels extremely bare-bones, and it seems like you can only find building materials randomly in containers, which are few and far between. I think I found wood once, but then got killed by an NPC, so that progress was gone.

Speaking of NPCs, it’s frustrating that I can take several knife hits but instantly die to an axe. There’s also no apparent way to build storage containers, so I guess you’re supposed to haul furniture from the Zone back to your base to store things? Day and night cycles pass too quickly, and the Zone itself feels pretty empty, there just isn’t much to do or discover.

Overall, it feels like the game is trying to be too many things at once without excelling at any of them. If the developers can focus and refine the gameplay loop and core mechanics, it might turn into something decent in a couple of years.

This Demo rocks!! Although my friends cant run a ship to save their lives, I'm happy you have a single player option too. I don't like Rouge-like games much, but this one has me hooked.

It's kind of wild that i ended up enjoying the game play more than the pawn parts.

I really love'd the mini games, you could easily make full games based on these, and oddly enough a dungeon crawler game that lets your woo the monsters. i will say that i was disappointed that the pawn scenes with the beast weren't as animated as some of what you'll see with the other town people.

And i had to start a new game to get some achievements to pop up, but the game was really fun so i didn't mind really.

But overall this game ♥♥♥♥

As far as remasters go, I really dig this. With it being Konami i didn't have a lot of hope for this game. Growing up with the OG back in the day, a remaster sounded awful because of the bar of quality they'd have to meet. You're talking atmosphere, story, tones, music, scare. . . And they nailed it. Not to say its perfect, but were talking maybe 95% close to it, and with so many AAA games being let downs now days, this was baffling to see from Konami of all company's. I didn't have high hopes for Bloober too, but I'm so happy i was proven wrong.

As someone who talked so much crap about this game leading up to release, let me say. . .
