Early Access Review
To be completely honest, I was skeptical of Video Horror Society at first. I thought it was just a DBD (a game I've put a decent amount of time into) clone, and I could not have been more wrong. The gameplay is very different and more interactive with the teen objectives revolving around the monster instead of avoiding the monster. I take this as a breath of fresh air for the genre and a welcome one at that. As a teen, you have to bring down the monster with a series of different weapon types that have to be crafted at their various stations. Once the monster has been wounded with all 4 weapon types, you win! As a monster, you have to down the teens until their health runs out without being wounded by all 4 weapon types. I have seen many opinions on monster gameplay good and bad, however (hear me out) I enjoy that as a monster, you have to be killed to lose. You always have the opportunity to outplay teens until that last weapon takes you down. This adds a sense of variation between games that I have not yet seen in this genre. I strongly recommend trying Video Horror Society. At first it may seem difficult as there is no MMR matchmaking yet, but put a few games in. Like I have and continue to, you will learn a little something with each game as losses feel fair and balanced, not like "stolen victories". (Review brought to you by a below average DBD player)
