I don't usually bother to review games. I leave it up to fate or whatever the Universe has you. This is an amazing game though with a fun game-play loop and a beautiful world.
You'll see three kind of negative reviews on this games page that honestly you can just disregard everyone of these reviews when looking for actual criticism.

1) People who are mad it's not the original iteration of this game. For people unaware the game had a very unique first iteration that was very fun but could not hold a player-base. They scrapped that idea and how have this version of the game.

2) That the game has bugs or had a "Matchmaking Error" launch day cause of overloaded servers. The overloaded servers are normal for companies with popular launches now days. Sorry you can't play this free game this one time at this one portion of the night. As long as you're not on life support you'll get a chance to play it as of the day of this review just fine.
This game is still very early in development and is free. With that you're gonna get a little jank as things polish out. This is normal for F2P continued service games on launch. I'd understand if we all shelled 30-60$ and it released like this but the bugs are few and far between. Not only that there hasn't even been enough time to see what the devs update cycle is going to be like.

3) People who aren't here for a hardcore shooter/survival shooter. Imagine going on a Puzzle games page and reviewing it negatively because "I didn't think it would be a puzzle game but it is game sucks," That's what all these people sound like. Like you're yelp reviewing a car wash because they didn't wash your hands for you. It's actually worse because this game is free. It's like going to a public park and kicking sand in your face and then complaining to the parks and rec department that the park is too parky.

The game isn't the old game. The old game isn't coming back. It's a game that just went public give the devs a chance to fix things they're people not robots.

As for what I love about the game and I'll use frequent comparisons to Tarkov or even Hunt Showdown.
The game launched with two huge maps. Both beautiful with unique POI's and hidden gems around the map if you take the time to explore. Some obvious some not so obvious.
The looting still feels good and it's not Tarkov level Tetris. It's not overly complicated and I enjoy that.
The looting feels valuable unlike in Hunt Showdown because it feels like you need the loot.
This game is about the loot. Weather you want to scavenge the map for it or your fellow prospectors. The extracts are obvious there's no learning curve to the map like there is Tarkov. I do wish the gunplay was a bit more advanced. I'd like to see leaning in the future or some type of movement mechanics because as of right now it does just kinda feel like gun jousting. I'm showing my age rn but on a pure gunplay level it kind of reminds me of Brink. Also there's proximity chat! Talk crap to the people you're shooting at or make some friends.

Anywhoodles I've written enough to get me a D- in a college course so I'll stop there. If you like Hardcore shooters or wanted to try one this one is free and has plenty to explore. Best of luck prospectors see you on Fortuna.

This game is unpolished and unfinished. It plays like an early access title and is clearly not ready for full release. Anyone who has played just a few games can see this. Yet there are still reviews from high end media companies claiming that this is the 'fortnite killer' and is cited in several as a 'big budget' game. This is all sad and unfortunate because you can clearly see how the core gameplay and design is fun and engaging. It's so hard to imagine how these developers sat down and played the game and said, "yeah this is okay to release". If you're looking for a game that plays like an Xbox 360 launch title but has the potential of a new age game this is the game for you. The developers only other game has been removed from steam and we have no history of their potential in supporting or patching a game. This game will go the same way battlerite did if it doesn't have the proper support.

Very fun game that has a lot to offer. It has its silly nature but that only adds to the value of the game. Games are quick and I love that there's no pre game lobby it just sends you into another game.
