So this was a game that I have been keeping an eye on for a little bit. Played the beta a few days before release and sort of hoped that a lot of the issues I had would be resolved but, uh... That's apparently not the case. You can feel the EA-ness of this game. Controls feel janky and a bit stiff; Movement in battle and on the world map constantly see's you getting stuck or having to re-input your movement.

Fighting in this game is just god awful, it's easily the worst part of it. Your troops don't really react to orders, they body block you constantly, and get stuck on the literal floor. Castle battles are even worse somehow, but only because I have never actually successfully fended one off. They say you can get guns and cannons, but I never got to see them. They just walk up, take out your archers, run up to the walls and just beat down the door and overwhelm you. It's kind of boring, but at least the ass whopping happens quick enough that it isn't aggravating.

Kingdom management is... Well it's not up to par either. The world economy doesn't really seem to be robust enough to maintain a kingdom with large armies. You get 20-ish days of food with an army of 23 with no porters. It takes 6 days to run to your destination, 5 days to fight, and then 4 days to the nearest place with food... That can only replenish you for about 2 days. It very quickly spirals into you standing in an area with 4 villages and two cities with literally no spare food at all. The diplomacy is basically useless, city management is non-existent as a feature besides building something and then walking away for 3 months to build something new. It's uninspired, having taken from a lot of other games similar to it, but doesn't really capitalize on what's good about them. All in all, very bland.

Two more issue I have with the game is 1. The constant pop-ups. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Pop ups. You don't get to pick to kill a lord, but all of a sudden you have 4 duplicates of the same screen saying that the wife of the man you just killed hates you, just to get 2 more duplicate screens of a notification saying that said wife got executed. And then 2. Talking to the other characters in the world. Straight up: Pointless. I'll say it outright. Talking to them does nothing, there's one dialogue option in taverns and when passing their army on the road. Then there is marrying someone. I tried to get with a vassal of mine and she told me to kill the 37 troop merchant who's been single handedly feeding our kingdom for 7 years. For all the reasons in the world I couldn't tell you how or why that came to be, if they were enemies, it sure as hell didn't bother to tell me. And the character sprites are randomized. I had a 52 year old dude that looks like he's 20 with a 20 year old dude looking like he's 52. Very jarring and a bit weird. But that's mostly visual so it's more of a pet peeve than a solid complaint.

In conclusion, I am very disappointed, but I did still have fun playing. I can see the vision, and I believe in the potential. I feel like it's worth a short but it needs to cook for a few more months before it's ready. They need to flesh out these systems and make the world feel alive like it's promised. It barely manages to keep itself a float without the player's assistance, and even still, I ain't helping very much because the hungry-hungry ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in my army go through 3000 stacks of food and eat my city into 4 month famine. Combat, of all systems, needs to be fixed. You cannot have a sandbox strategy game that advertises warfare and leave it like that. It's almost an insult to the genre. I do not recommend in it's current state, but if you give it a shot, it's at least fun. I will be jumping into a sandbox game to see if it's better than the Campaign tomorrow.

I've been playing WH3 on and off since it released. I played WH1 and WH2 and the only other Total War game I have played is Shogun 2 and have plans to buy Attila for the LoTR mod. That being said, I only play WH3 because of the modding community. The hard truth is that I don't really trust CA as a company to make anything of quality anymore. This last DLC set was interesting but ultimately I won't be buying any lord other than Sayl unless I get bored enough to try it. My primary issue with the game is that when it works, it's great but that's basically 40% of the time. Just because there are rare W's does not make the game quality, but that doesn't mean its abysmal ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ either. Very narrowly recommending this one.

This game makes me miss Gundam Evolution, but at least we have skin tight suits so it almost passes.

Mecha BREAK is basically a painful hero shooter with a robot paint job. It's fast, it's annoying at times, and it is vicious. It doesn't take a lot to pick the game up but the ceiling is deceptively high. Everyone and everything can punish you and hurt a lot, effectively forcing you to stay together or die. And I promise you that isn't as much of a "no sh*t" moment as you'd think it would be. I say that because you're either biting the curb or telling them to do it instead. There's no close games, it's you either win by a lot or lose by a lot. When it comes to every man for himself, if you can't recover after escaping, the games already over. You'll constantly be down one or two guys, and it will just spiral from there.

There's about zero customization for the mechs, besides paints and patterns. I thought the selling point of the game was to customize your own mech, but I guess I was wrong. The mod system is stupid, and you can't get any other weapons unless you get them in the tarkov clone gamemode. And naturally those are consumables, so I guess don't die. There's also loot boxes with like really ugly patterns that you can't really change either, not to mention the 50 dollar ace pilot you can't even edit. The only customization worth getting for the pilot is behind a 15 dollar price point or a heavily inflated bidding system on the matrix workshop. IMO the best costume is gate kept behind 600,000 mission points of the poorly designed, and quite frankly unfun extraction gamemode. Which is ironic, honestly. It's the only costume in game I'd actually pay money for.

I'm going to recommend it only because it fills a niche that I enjoy, but I still wish it was Gundam Evolution.

I almost feel bad because I enjoy Splitgate to a certain extent. Goofing off in custom games with friends is actually really fun, and when you play against the most bitchless, jobless losers you've ever seen it only lasts for like a minute and then it's over. The matches are VERY short. However, this game falls victim to the free-to-play run of the mill bs where every single cosmetic you can unlock is paid content. So many different packs and monetization methods and luckily aren't P2W but like... come on, really? Also there doesn't need to be a battle royale. The game is fast and the maps are small, you're going to get third or even fourth partied in two minutes flat (which is exactly what happened to us). Make the game play like a faster Halo, where I can whip around in portals at mach speed shooting dudes in the face with a gun. I don't need these gen alpha tiktok humor emotes with a built in fortnite clone.

Sort of underwhelming. Laggy in some points, movement feels kind of janky, and the TTK feels slow with everything. The kill camera's are way too long and take you out of the fight, the UI symbols don't make sense, and the general feel of the game feels bad. I have it a fair shot but its fails to deliver on something substantial.

Here is what you need to know:
1. Fighting is engaging and fun. Parry mechanic is kind of wonky but its not bad.
2. Morphing is tied to FPS. If you're in a high pop area and the game is stuttering, don't try to fly. You will perish upon the concrete.
3. The game is beautiful even on medium settings.
4. The story is actually complete dog sh**. The grind and exploration is where this game is best.
5. The girls are uhhh... Yeah.
You are now educated.

It's not quite the Pokemon Open World RPG I've been hoping for, but this is the closest I've seen IMO. The base building and the Ark-lite gameplay loop itches the right places, and as long as they don't abandon this title to early access hell I can forsee myself playing this for some time.
