I would like to preface this review with a handful of statements,

"Yes, this game is unfinished in its current state, and you will notice it when you play, especially if you are coming from Cities Skylines 1. Yes, both Paradox and Colossal Order dropped the ball and released a game that was unfinished and not ready. Yes, the community has been very upset over decisions made subsequent to the game release. Yes, I agree with a lot of the sentiment that the community is sharing surrounding this game."

Now that that's out of the way, I want to say that this game is good in its current state, and more than playable on even some dated hardware configurations. My specs are an I7 8700k with 32gb of RAM at 3600mghz and a 3070 ti. I have the game running on an nvme ssd as well. It runs at an average of 80-90 fps depending on the city size, but I have not found nearly as many performance issues as I expected, and I'm not getting 20fps average like in CS1. I think a lot of the core mechanics in the game are very good, they work, and there is a lot of nice additions and QOL stuff not in the previous game. There are problems with zoning, that, with time, I assume will be worked out. Some buildings will not zone in the manner you want, which can be annoying when you are trying to get down to the nitty gritty of detailing. However, the modding scene is already very vibrant, and a lot of fixes and more QOL stuff is coming and is already here.

All of that said, I am happy with the purchase, I think Colossal Order really want this game to work out, and I think if the community sticks by it, the modding scene (which is already starting to thrive) becomes more prevalent, and we get more updates from the devs on some of the more nuanced mechanics, this game will be the perfect successor to CS1. I think in time it will bring a lot of joy to both people who love to sim city build, and also people who love to meticulously detail and bring realism to their cities. In its current state, I think it is worth its price point, but if you can get it on sale, I would recommend it. I think people will get enough fun out of the game to feel it worth it.

Its space Vietnam.

Edit: I changed my review to not recommend because people should not be forced to link a third party email it should always be optional. Anything past the platform you're playing it on is too much. Also its the principal of "Do this because you have to if you want to play the game", that is not behavior we should be supporting. The effort involved in linking your Playstation account is not the issue, it is the fact that for one, Playstation Network is not offered in a wide range of countries, and for two, it is suspicious when you require something like this months after the game has already been released. This was something they had to do on release or forego doing it in the future. I hope the devs can override Sony's poor decision on this one because this game genuinely has potential and a lot of fun to be had. It is just bad when you launch with a problem (the anti-cheat), overcome it, and then have an even bigger problem arise only months later. Let's hope the devs can make it out of this one.

Edit: Major Order Complete

A worthless count insulted my penis size in a local bathhouse. That was uncalled for. The game is good otherwise.

This game is awesome, no question. There are some minor stuttering issues. I have a 3070 TI and am running on mostly high, and occasionally I get some pretty large frame drops, but I chalked it up to poor optimization that will be patched later. I think as is, it is a great game, just needs some time to fix the optimization issues.

This game is awesome. Plain and Simple. Let me further elaborate:
1. The crafting system is this game's saving grace. It has a lot of expandability, it is addicting, and it feature's a lot of cool craftable items that will boost your player's abilities and further your experience.
2. The PVP is good, but there are some notable issues. As a starting player, there is a lot of players in the starting zone that are way higher level and will try to gank you. If you are solo, just wait to flag for PVP until you find some faction members to play with, or just avoid PVP while you are leveling.
3. Questing is meh. The questing system is very bland, and it does show after a few hours of gameplay. The typical fetch this, kill that, bring back to me what you got, and get a reward, is utilized heavily, without much deviation. That said, if you put the grind first, it isn't as bad as people say it is. Just go to a zone that you like, find some quests and get them done and move on.
4. The social aspect in this game is awesome. The faction system allows for companies to battle one another for control of a specified region. The economy in that region falls under the control of whichever controlling company has the zone. Further, multiple companies within a faction bring in an aspect of in-fighting, where companies within the same faction may battle for control of a territory that their faction controls. Its so unique and cool, and again, one of the game's saving graces.
5. Overall, the game definitely needs to be fleshed out, but at launch, there is a lot of fun to be had, and it is a solid game.
