Despite the disclaimer saying that a linked PSN account is required, it was VERY clear that it was not required at all as I could play the game without it. This makes the planned account linking changes/updates very clearly absolutely unnecessary, especially with Sony's track record of severe data breaches over the years, it is not a company I want to give my data or information to.

Their handling of this situation on discord has also been less than stellar with their community managers being condescending to everyone who dares voice their dissatisfaction.

EDIT: Sony/Playstation has since announced that PSN will not be required anymore, however, they still haven't re-enabled purchases in countries that aren't supported by PSN and the steam store for Helldivers 2 still lists PSN account as a requirement. My review will be negative until these things are corrected.

Fun game, especially in coop, nice monster design and the combat is actually challenging though I find quests little annoying sometimes and the microtransactions little iffy.

Pretty good procedural sandbox at this point. More will come™.

It can get boring sometimes, but it's always nice to come back to it with new updates which are frequent enough at least for me, only very small amount of content is locked behind actual paywall and those are only visual items, one of the best free-to-play models out there in my opinion.
