The original Dead Space was by far one of the best horror games ever made. The Dead Space 2023 Remake is by far one of the best horror games ever made. It takes everything I loved about the original and improves upon it in almost every single way. This is an absolute must buy for horror game fans. I seriously hope the Dead Space franchise continues this format of gameplay and improves in the future and stays FAR away from the dumpster fire that was Dead Space 3. If Dead Space continues in the future based on this remake, I'm very excited for whats to come next!

**Spoiler free**

I'm not normally a fan of games like this, but after taking the plunge and buying Dark Souls: Remastered, and loving it, I had to give Elden Ring a try. This is by far some of the most engrossed I've ever been in a video game, despite the rather confusing (on the surface) story. This is the culmination of every Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro game, and its able to wrap it all up with a nice bow to top it off.

Let's get into the story: Its confusing to say the least, but its there for those who are willing to dig deeper into it. While I have yet to experience the entire story considering I'm not yet done with the game, its definitely a little easier to follow than past Souls games, and has an endgame goal that is established at the very beginning of the game. You can definitely get through this game and enjoy it without paying any mind to the story, though, if you're not a big lore person because the gameplay is just so damn good.

Take Dark Souls 3 gameplay, which was already great, and enhance it significantly with much more fluid movements and animations as well as many more unique moves for most weapons and playstyles. Without going into a long tangent, the gameplay is rock-solid and probably some of the best ever put into an AAA game. Period. This is coming from somebody who plays everything from FPS to RPG to Survival.

The game looks fantastic. While its certainly not the best looking game I've ever seen, and at some times the game can look kind of fuzzy in foggy, dark, or stormy areas, during periods with daylight, the shadows are very detailed and help build upon a beautiful world alongside the great texture detail and fair draw distance. Obviously, fidelity will vary from system to system, but I'm running at 1440p max settings on a 2080ti.

Now, let's talk about few issues I've found so far, and admittedly, there aren't many. The main issue I've had is with how some quests require you to fast travel around the map quite often, but that's also just a sacrifice you have to make with an open-world game. I also have an issue with lack of quest markers as some NPCs will direct you to locate a specific character in the world, whether or not you've already met them. That can lead you on a wild goose chase around the map trying to find them. So unless you're really lucky and explore every nook and cranny, you'll likely have to do some research on how to complete certain quests.

And finally, the issue of performance. Admittedly, I've not had nearly as many issues as some have complained about in their reviews, but I do get occasional stutters. The stutters are relatively rare though, and I can only think of one or two times where they could've gotten me killed. Of course, this can also vary depending upon your own system and the drivers you're running.

I wasn't sure what to expect going into Bioshock 2, but after completing the main story, I can confidently say that I enjoyed this game just as much as the first one if not more. The story, characters, and goals are completely different than the first game, but the roots of the original Bioshock are still felt and there are numerous references to the original. Bioshock 2 helps tie the original game to it well without retconing it any way - only adding to it.

The first thing you'll notice when booting up Bioshock 2 is the jump in graphical fidelity compared to the original. This game looks and sounds better in everyway - the textures, the lighting, the sound. Its all great. You can actually see the imperfections on the weapons, and lights reflect more realistically off of objects. The original wasn't a bad looking game, but it doesn't hold up today in 2021. You could argue Bioshock 2 actually does hold up today, however. Its overall a much more immersive game than the first.

The story is easily the best part of Bioshock - yes, it has that weird 2010 clunky feel at times, but its a definite improvement upon the original in terms of telling the story. Unlike the original, Bioshock 2 makes you feel more for the characters. I didn't expect to feel sadness playing a game like this, but this game delivered well on a variety of emotions.

The gameplay sticks with the weapon and plasmid cycling method of the original, except now you can harness plasmid power while simultaneously using a weapon in your main hand, which is a great addition - no need to swap hands. It does make the controls a little more complicated, but after an hour or two of playing, I was able to find a steady way to control the abilities.

The difficulty - wow its great. I played on Hard my first time through, and it was able to offer a balanced, fun, and challenging experience. While the game certainly tested me on hard, I can't think of a single point where it was too difficult. If you're an experienced gamer, Hard mode is the way to go on your first playthrough for sure.

In conclusion, without getting into spoilers, Bioshock 2 is a must-play and arguably the better game between itself and Bioshock. I wasn't expecting an improved experience as sequels don't have a good track-record, but Bioshock 2 is the exception. What an amazing game.

Despite it saying I have only 39 hours, I only bought the Steam version recently, My actual time is around 688 hours at this point in time. So, if you're actually considering purchasing this game, if you like FPS games, this is a no-brainer. This game is actually several games in one: Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 4, Halo 3 ODST, and Halo Reach. Along side these games come their campaigns and complete multiplayer experience. So if you want to play Halo 2 multiplayer only, you can do it just like people could back in 2004.

There's something for every FPS fan here. This is also a good game to introduce you to FPS if you'd like as there are various difficulties you can try, including easy which is a great introduction to the FPS genre while not compromising the amazing story of the series. To make it easier, here is a brief summary and review of each individual game. Its impossible to include as much information as needed to review MCC (The Master Chief Collection) within Steam's character limit.

Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary (Also known as Halo CE or Halo 1) - A freshly-painted original Halo from 2001, introducing you to the Halo universe and Master Chief's journey. The game introduces you to a load of information without being overwhelming because it comes so naturally. You learn mainly about the war between the humans and alien Convenant Empire, why it exists, the Forerunners, and the Mysterious Halo Ring. There is something amazing here I do not want to spoil, so you will have to play to find out. You can swap between the original and anniversary graphics instantly in game without issue. I recommend playing on the original graphics as the anniversary graphics kind of take away a bit from the original experience as the original used dim lighting and dense fog as a tool, where the new graphics kind of just make everything super bright and completely negates any use for your flash light. Overall, CE is a Masterpiece for its time, and is still gaming royalty today. It does everything just right. 10/10.

Halo 2 Anniversary- One of the best story-driven FPS games every made. The story isn't just the best in the Halo series in my opinion, but one of the best in FPS gaming due to its coverage of both the human and Covie side and the way its told and written. Again, you can play on the new or old graphics and switch instantly between the two. This is an example of where I recommend the new graphics. They look absolutely incredible even today, and compliments the game and story well. The cutscenes are pre-rendered by blur studios and their work here is just down right perfect. Some parts are slightly different from the OG cutscenes as the dialogue might be slightly spoken faster or slower, but overall great. The difficulty in Halo 2 is awful not going to lie. Halo CE had the Legendary difficulty perfect, but Halo 2 is impossible on Legendary unless you know the game intensely and are familiar with each level and enemy placement, you aren't beating it. 9/10. Amazing on Heroic and lower, but still the difficulty spike really kills some of the game. But I can't knock it too hard for that.

Halo 3 - Words can't describe the amazing finale to Master Chief's story. Its just f@@king perfect ending to the trilogy. Gameplay and weapon sandbox and competitive-playability is the best in the series. Getting low on characters, so I'll keep it short. Amazing game. There's no anniversary graphics, but the graphics here are pretty timeless and look decent even today. 10/10 game as well.

Halo 3 ODST - kind of a side-quest game from H3. You play as a special forces soldier instead of a super soldier this time around. It follows the story of a small team of ODSTs who have a missions to accomplish in a Covenent-controlled city. Music is absolutely a master piece. Most of H3's gameplay perfection is here, but there's no multiplayer for ODST, the only one without it, so its limited to just a campaign. This is the first semi-open world game in the series, and it really pays off. 8/10 game. The game is short, and I would've liked a little more from it. I feel like it should've been included in Halo 3 instead of a separate game. There's not a lot here, but what is here is great.

Halo Reach - Canonically the first game in the series since it follows events before Halo CE. Its a setting-driven narative following Noble 6 and the rest of Noble team as they defend planet Reach from a sudden and outofnowhere Convenent invasion. This is the second best story in the series, in my opinion behind Halo 2. Its unique from the other games, but has that og Halo feel. The multiplayer is the most fun in Reach in my opinion due to armor abilities. 9/10 game. Some things could be balanced better and the Battle Rifle is gone, and replaced with a discount version called the DMR. Overall still great. Many easter eggs as well.

Halo 4 - First full game by 343 Industries. Amazing graphics, decent story, gameplay is very unbalanced and I'd almost call it just okay. Halo takes on a different art style here. The Covenant in my opinion look worse in terms of their design, some weapons are different. 343 changed a lot here that never should've been changed. Its a good game on its own, but it just doesn't feel like Halo. That being said, it aged like a not super fine wine as in I came to like it better as the years went on, but I still definitely prefer the Bungie games. Halo 4 is still worth playing tho. 7/10. Good game on its own, too many changes, ammo is WAY too limited, multiplayer isn't competitive.

Don't let my 14 hours of gameplay fool you. I played this on the PS4 when it launched. First of all, this was one of the best games on the PS4 platform, and now that is on PC, the 1080p at 30 FPS experience is much better now that I can play it at 1440p at a much higher framerate. The world is beautiful, the story and storytelling is very good and engaging, and the combat is absolutely outstanding - some of the best in a third-person combat-based videogame. But you want to know if this game is worth your money? Let's dive deeper.

First of all, the story takes place into the far future where humanity was destroyed by its own creation - machines and AI. The lore is much deeper than that, but that is the sum. You play as Aloy, a character whose origins are mystery and unknown as you're thrown into a world where scraps of ancient humanity now lay - there's old and broken ancient cities, there's robotic animals roaming the world, and there's a dungeon-system that helps tie this altogether. I don't normally play third-person games, but the story alone is a good reason to play. The story is absolutely incredible. The way the story is told can see some improvement, but its still above average compared to story-driven games like Skyrim and the Witcher III.

The combat is amazing, and again, one of the best in this genre of games. The controls are easy to use and understand. The combat is smooth and doesn't make you feel restricted by what you can do. You can seamlessly change between bows, slings, melee weapons, traps, potions, and abilities. The combat is definitely the one thing the upcoming installment, Forbidden West, will really struggle to improve upon.

The graphics and the world itself are both top-notch. The game looks amazing, and you're playing on PC, you have the potential to play at much better resolution, settings, and framerate than the original consoles, and the PS4 already made this game look great. The anti-aliasing is pretty bad though. This game is actually the main reason I upgraded to 1440p - to help smooth out the jagged edges. If you're playing at 1080p on a monitor larger 24', you will probably notice the lack of anti-aliasing. At 1440p though, its much less noticeable, albeit still there. There are Nvidia Control Panel and AMD Adrenaline options to help remedy this issue though.

The main issue I have with this game is the way conversations happen. First of all, the character-voiced audio is compressed, and you can definitely tell this is the case. It sounds a little out of place sometimes - if you're not in a cutscene. The cutscenes sound pretty good though. But the conversation you have in-game and the facial expressions could use some work. They feel a little unnatural, and you will notice this in a playthrough. Again, none of these problems exist in the cutscenes. Its not a game-breaking issue, and it will probably only bother you in the beginning, but you will get used to it. The conversations also try to give choices as if those will effect the game at all - it won't from what I've noticed. You can make Aloy make stupid decisions which MAY effect the short-term, but at the end of the day, none of it really matters. But since there are a few characters that are incredibly likable, if you end your last conversation with them on a sour note, you will definitely feel like an @sshole.

A small detail too - do NOT play this game on hard my first time around. I did this, and it dramatically increased the game to almost Dark Souls level it was awful. I was able to overcome it by spending hours collecting healing resources, but I don't generally recommend this your first time through.

Overall, this game is a great choice for mostly anybody. I highly recommend it especially for those who like third-person action games. There's a lot more to unpack about this game that the character limit doesn't allow me to elaborate on, but if you can buy it, then its worth the dozens of hours you will probably put into it. This game will leave a lasting impression, which is something rarely-seen nowadays.

There's very few games I would consider life changing - this is one of those games.

Let's start simple. The graphics and sound design are top tier and absolutely a marvel. They're what you come to expect from a AAA developer that's put 7+ years of work into a game, and nobody will be disappointed in these regards, even Bezos with his eight 3090s in SLi and 1024 GB of ram.

The story is one of the best in modern gaming. It may turn some people off because its definitely a slow burn and takes time, but if you come into the game and don't set a time limit on finishing it, then you'll be just fine. Expect to feel sadness, loneliness, strength, anger, love, and joy as you experience one of the best stories every written, period. There's easily 200+ hours of content in the singleplayer alone. Honestly, there's probably more than that. You have first the long but outstanding story and its absolutely beautiful cast, you have hunting, fishing, nature observing, collecting, looting, shooting, buying and selling, relationship bonding with people and animals, and the list honestly just goes on and on. When I say there's something for everybody here, I mean it.

This game can be difficult to run on older hardware, but if you have something equivalent to a 1050ti and an old FX 8 core, then you'll be fine - just expect to turn the settings down because this game is one of the most intense out there to run.

I have very few complaints. The multiplayer is about all I can mention in terms of. If you expect the multiplayer to be half as good as GTA V, that's about it - half as good. Its not bad, but its not great, and I'd honestly buy this game for the singleplayer, alone. Most people who play this don't even really touch multiplayer.

Overall, this game is as close to a masterpiece as a modern game has come, and has blown expectations out of the water, and over the mountains. With every piece of content here, there's always something extra and then something extra on top of that. An incredible experience everybody should try. I'm going to give this game my very first 10/10. Its a masterpiece.

Ah, Dead Space. I doubt most of you will be reading this review for your purchasing decision but more because you want to know what other people think. I don't normally write reviews on games that I only have 13 hours, but this game is the exception since the main story can be beat in about 9-10 hours on a casual playthrough. Maybe 11-12 if you're taking your time.

So, to be frank, this is by far one the greatest horror experiences I've ever had - both back in 2008 on my Xbox 360 an even today on my gaming PC. Even today in 2021, it feels refreshing and new, almost like something that's never been done before, and its magical. Its just a pure horror experience with an interesting plotline, decent characters, and absolutely outstanding enviornments, sound design, and even graphics. Graphics not so much today, but even now the game looks pretty okay, and isn't hard to look at - even for me who plays at 1440p.

I don't know what bugs other people have been experiencing, but I've had no trouble at all. I've read a few instances where people report crashes and bugs, but to be honest, I don't think my game has even crashed or bugged out a single time. I use a 3700x and 2070 super and 32GB of ram for reference. I'd honestly ignore people having these issues because as a software engineer, I can tell you its probably down to them just not knowing what they're doing. But back to the game.

This is a hands down purchase for anybody whose never experienced Dead Space - if you're a fan of horror of games. The gun play feels slightly dated, but is still manageable. The lack of a HUD helps immerse you into the world. The variety of difficulties and armor and weapon upgrades, also allow you to tailor your experience a bit if you want more of a challenge. The game only has single player campaign, and that's about it, but its one of the more replayable campaigns today, though I couldn't personally do back to back playthroughs.

The story is pretty good. Its interesting, and you're legitimately curious whats going on and why throughout the entire game. The buildup and twist at the end is also pretty good. The boss fights make sense and are unique and interesting. All this is being done while the game is also making you sheet yourself 90% of the time, but, even me, somebody who doesn't like playing horror games much, enjoyed every bit of it. You don't feel helpless, but instead hope helps get you through since you're armed with capable weapons. There's also a few puzzles for those who like to test their minds, but none of them are very difficult.

The characters are pretty basic, but serve their purpose, and don't drag the story down either. You actually feel for some of them in end, which is rare for a horror game like this.

Overall, this game is just down right amazing and shouldn't be passed up by most people. Even non-horror fans should give this a try. Overall amazing game, even by 2021 standards. A rock solid 9/10 here for its creativity and lasting impressions.
