Half-Life is a series of games that I've always heard about, but never played. Outside of headcrabs, the Combine, the gravity gun, and the crowbar, I knew nothing about this game. Having now finished HL2 and the two sequel episodes thanks to Valve making the games free for a limited amount of time, I now understand why this game is considered in such high regard. Half-Life 2's story is phenomenal, and the epitome of a silent protagonist done right. The gameplay, although clearly aged, is also extremely fun. Looking forward to what Half-Life: Alyx will bring.

The first time I played Destiny I had downloaded a demo of the game on the PlayStation Store where the max level you could reach was 7 and you couldn't progress beyond the missions on Earth. After only a few hours of play, I was instantly hooked. After maybe a week of doing nothing but exploring the Cosmodrome at level 7, I bought the game, and it's been one of my favorite games ever since. There's something about Destiny that I haven't felt while playing other games. The feel of weapons is top notch, and player movement is superb as well (although movement does have its rough edges, such as bouncing off in a random direction because you jumped on a pebble, but you get used to it).

Destiny 2 has been a roller coaster of a game. There were some steps back from the first Destiny game mixed in with some steps forward, overall making for a lackluster experience at launch. Two years later though, Destiny 2 is better than it's ever been. Given that all Year 1 content is now free, as well as a majority of the content from Year 2, there's no reason why you shouldn't give this game a try at this point. I'm at over 1000 hours and counting in D2 alone, and I don't see myself stopping any time soon.

A beautiful game that will absolutely keep you busy for a while. You can clearly tell that a whole lot of care has been put into this game.

At least for me though, it seems lacking in replayability. I don't see a reason to start from scratch on a new save, and outside of a few tedious remaining tasks (grind out all achievements, hunt all the treasure pods, max out my rewards club rank), there doesn't seem to be much left for me in the game after 24-25 hours of play in the adventure mode. That doesn't make it any less of a great game. I'm sure I'll come back to the game to play every so often, but if you're anything like me, don't expect this to be the type of game you find yourself coming back to for hours at a time after having played through it once.

I received this game as a gift, but would certainly have no issue if I had paid for it myself.
