The best of 90s FPS mixed in with modern concepts, all through an amazing campaign with level designs becomes crazier and crazier as you progress. There's some nice replayability too with different badges to get for each level, each demonstrating how beautifully crafted the levels are both to explore and find ever secret in, and to speedrun and blast your way through like a madman. There's also some legit horror moments in there, the endless mode is also very fun to play, the weapons are cool and all the references to your favorite games and nice touches.
Overall a challenging masterpiece with a nice 6/8h campaign and more if you want to complete the hell out of it and find all there is to find.

Early Access Review
I'm gonna be honest, Dead Cells is still in early access – it's not even done yet – but it buries fifty feet below any game even remotely in the same genre.

The visuals are amazing, everything shines and sparks in its own way, and the pixel art transpires mastery everywhere. its a masthapiece. There is little attentions everywhere, things that truly mark how invested in making a good game the developers were.

Per example: after every zone, you get to an interstice where you can heal and fill up your health flasks. If you go there with full health but no flasks, it says "Flasks filled". If you go there with no health but all flasks you get a different message. If you fill up both you get yet another message. They could have just showed "yup all filled up" but they went to this length because they are perfectionists.

I've played a buttload of rogueli(tk)e, some for hundreds and hundreds of hour (Isaac, Rogue Legacy, Risk of Rain, Gungeon etc.), and this one will definitely be part of the pantheon when it quits EA. Every update to the game in the span of the EA has brought huge batches of new content, rebalancing and fixes – a good share of those coming directly from community suggestions. These are people that love the game they are making and handcraft every aspect of it.

tl;dr 10/7 would recommend

Early Access Review
Honestly I bought this game because a lot of people recommended it to me but I was absolutely sure I wouldn't like it. Graphics looked simple, gameplay seemed pretty boring.

Then I launched the tutorial, and the first jump I made, I got hooked. Do *not* trust videos, this is something you need to experience to truly understand how absolutely awesome, addictive and satisfying it is. The game is full of ideas that keep you on your toes (anti-gravity, trampolines, etc), the levels are very intelligently designed, and there's a lot to work with in the Workshop.

If you remember the good old days of Kreedz Climbing back in the heydey of HL2 mods, this is the same feeling you'll get. Really recommend it.

This is most likely one of the most impressive things I have ever tried on the Vive – and I have tried a *lot* of things. But there is something humbling and majestic about this, about being able to go from the size of a star to the size of a car, about being able to revisit all the places that marked your memory and the places you've but dreamed of one day seeing.

I went to the top of the Everest, watched over New York from the top of a skyscraper, I saw my old house, I saw the sun rising over the coast of Japan, I saw everything all at once from the cold embrace of space.

It is a beautiful experience and if you still haven't tried it then what the hell are you still doing reading this, it's FREE.

Builds upon the first one, fixing everything that needed fixing while adding new layers of depth. If you liked the first one you'll love this one.
