The only knowledge I had of Undertale going into it was that it was a meme game. It was the game where people saw the funny skeleton man and laughed right before playing the first 4 notes of his theme song. I was dragged kicking and screaming into playing this game before I resigned myself to my fate. It was only a 4 hour game, I could struggle through this.

About 5 minutes in I realised that I was enjoying myself. The music was pretty good and the dialogue was entertaining. Still, I was prepared for the game to turn into an enormous joke at any second so that I could justify me preconceived notions and rant at the person who got me to play it. As the game progressed that feeling that it was about to take a turn for the worse just faded into nothing. I found myself stopping what I was doing to just enjoy the music and how it complements the story. The world was fascinating. I would interact with every object and talk to every character, not to figure out how to progress but to see what the game had to say, to see where it took me.

I was prepared to hate Undertale going into it. Instead, I loved this game and everything in it. The music is amazing. The way Toby Fox uses a few leitmotifs to create entirely different songs with compounding emotions and uses them to compliment the story is pulled off so beautifully. The characters are endearing and so likeable. Even the goofy aspects that I was ready to write the game off for, they felt earned.

Undertale is a great game and deserves the status that people hold it to. If like me you avoided playing it, take it from someone who hated everything that surrounded this game: it is that good.

I'm not really into horror and not that much of a fan of horror games, but Phasmophobia has me rethinking that stance. You can play this game scared out of your mind, knowing that at any point a ghost will be coming to kill you. Running in, placing your items and hightailing it back to the truck with your tail between the legs so that you can survey the cameras you placed around the place. You can also treat it like it's a minimum wage job and you're just doing your thing, making your coin. Collect your evidence, deduce the ghost and take a couple of pictures and steal everything that isn't nailed down. You also have the opportunity to play Phasmophobia like an absolute nutter, forcing a ghost to attack you and playing a little game of cat and mouse before burning sage when it inevitably gets a little too close. Then, to top it all off, you 3 of your friends can do a little ghost hunting together. You'll be able to determine who the biggest coward of your friend group is as well as know who is the most likely to lure a ghost over to your hiding spot to get the two of you killed. Phasmophobia is a game like no other before it. If horror games aren't your thing, please check this game out, you may be surprised as to what this genre is hiding.

Baba Is You is such a uniquely great puzzle game. The eureka moment that comes from solving a lot of these puzzles is so amazingly satisfying. This game makes you feel smart when you're winning but also makes you earn it. The way the elements to the game are slowly introduced makes for a very satisfying learning curve. If you like puzzle games: Baba is You certainly is one, and a great one at that.

Fun physics puzzles, although the open nature of the worlds leads to me spending a lot of time on something that isn't actually part of the puzzle. Thankfully this is balanced out by the ability to use the physics and movement to skip most the puzzles. If you want a game that gets you thinking or if you just want to mess around in a sandbox this game is certainly worth it.

Fun enough. The music is good but begins to feel obnoxious when you mess up near the end of a level and have to sit through the entire song again. Jumping also feels a bit janky in different scenarios

Turn off V-Sync. Super Hexagon is really fun to learn. A lot of aspects of this game feel cheap at first, however after the repetition you gain an understanding as to what is happening and how to respond. That said this game requires a level of precision that is hurt a lot by the latency caused when v-sync is enabled.
