Cool, simple puzzle/action game!
Late to the party, but I just wanted to say this has some really funny humor, and the gameplay gets you hooked!
Note about the difficulty of the game: After completing the single story mode, I found the most difficult part was the robot factory in Chapter 6, the timing of the door could have been extended by just a few seconds more (also the last boss can be complicated using keyboard) :/
Good game overall :)

This is a good compilation of the pre-Neo Geo era of games from SNK. Many of these arcade games I've played, including the NES cart games, too. And some games, like Ikari Warriors & Alpha Mission have an influence on many games released afterwards. Also, now more people can try the lesser known but gems like P.O.W. and Iron Tank. And also making this a good addition to a game collection is the included articles on the history of the games and SNK, too.

I've never played the series of this game, and I saw some videos online of the previous installments, and the Amiga version of this game, and I think this is similar in game play. There are a few differences, like this, the Turbografx-16 version, has more faster game play, and is a little less forgiving in avoiding getting hit by enemies. Also, it was developed by NEC, and although as I said before they kept most of the gameplay, you will notice some Japanese influence in the characters in this game (walking cameras, incorrect grammar and a few weird power-ups). Also, this series has some good soundtrack, and this game is no exception as NEC did just about as good a job as British game company Gremlin Interactive. Although some of the stages have almost unfair difficult spots and sometimes easy bosses, this turned out to be a good platform game.

Before I review, I just want to mention I had difficulty making a game collection in my youth for two reasons - one being, when I would look for a certain game I would like, either the game was out of stock, or the store (perhaps region?) didn't have it shipped in. The second is economical (even back then, new games in retail stores where around fifty U.S. dollars). Now, I think I remember seeing this in a video game magazine ad & review, and I believe it might have been just before the Super NES was available, so I gave this game a try.

Review :
This is one of the few games are are surprisingly looked over, it's really a good game. To be honest, it's one of my favorites (I do mean out of all the console and computer games I've played). It probably has all what makes a classic platformer : fun, and original gameplay (especially with the controllable falcon), good graphics (yes, there is a lot to compare with Castlevania), and good audio.
Also, two players can play this, one the human and the other the falcon. And this game can be difficult, since it's not enough to just collect all clues but the bosses need to be played in order. It also gets difficult when you finish on the first try, since the game loops to a second, more difficult mode. And if that owuldn't be trying for some, then the last third is the game's most difficult mode. Lastly, as I said before this game resembles the Castlevania series alot, and for me I kind of like these two equally. But, taht's just Arcade Pilot's own opinion! :D

I haven't played many shooters that have a realistic mode, but this game has gameplay that's behaves close to the actual action. I would commend the player leveling system, but because you can level up with bots and not just human players I guess I won't really (although it has a good structure). It's also really fun when playing on a server that is full (sometimes 64 players!). And rarely do I appreciate a game for it's music as much as the gameplay, but the music for this and the expansion Rising Storm was done very well by it's composer Sam Hulick, and I'd be interested to hear some of his work in the Mass Effect series that he's worked on before.

I was always interested in both console and computer versions of games, even back in the NES & DOS era. This is a classic action game from the 16-bit era. I've wanted to play this when I had my x386 computer, now I have the chance. The enhanced SNES addition is great (good soundtrack too). I highly recommend this for nostalgia and for people to see and compare console and PC games.
