Great, more action-packed game with improved, beautiful graphics. The way I see it, it is a preparation for the full RE4 remake that was already in production back then. Enjoyed it and its game pacing.

Great survival horror experience in the form of a re-imagining of one of the most beloved parts of the RE franchise. Gorgeous graphics and gore. Good sound. All classic locations are present and refined. However, I felt that there is a significant random factor in terms of damaging enemies, especially on Hardcore, where the same zombie can take either 6 shots or 12, even in the leg at times. The same goes for damage done to you: a normal zombie can deal 1 part of health or all of it in the same circumstances. It feels even more obvious in 4th survival, where it feels like the system either registers damage done to enemies or not, and doubles your injuries from average enemies by random. Despite that, enjoyed the experience, although I confirmed to myself that I'm more of the Mikami approach to survival horror fan.

Very good graphics, good visual design, and interesting limb-cutting mechanics. That's about all there is to the game. It has a very standard system-bio-shock premise that doesn't present anything new or have any kind of charismatic characters. On top of the mediocrity, it has an excruciatingly boring and tedious grind loop where you have to go through a location 10 times to get blueprints and parts from the enemies to craft your gear that cannot be dismantled. Also, the level design is horrible, and you will often run in circles for an hour trying to figure out where you need to go. Very disappointed, hoped it would be a better souls-like. Hope the second game is better.
