This game tickles the itch!

What do you do? Build, Connect, Power, Configure, Program, Fly/Sail, and most importantly Rescue!

The controls are intuitive, and the game is as complicated or simple as you wish. The build process a little daunting at first, but it gets easier as you build more vehicles. What are the limits? You imagination!

Multiplayer is a must with this game! It is enhanced with teamwork so much! Flying in stormy weather, drop off your friend and have them rescue while you stay afloat!

Graphics are simple.
Building/Programming is satisfying.
Dopamine hit is key!
Music is on point and reacts to the changing situations.

Overall: 9/10
Highly Recommended!

I LOVE this game! It's a fresh comedic version of killing bugs. The over democratic take on spreading sweet liberty is just... it just works! However there are some things that could be improved. Like the [REDACTED]

I cannot recommend this game more! Despite what many people have claimed, I haven’t experienced many cheaters nor issues/bugs.

Connectivity is good.
Multiplayer is amazing.
The experience that this game brings to the community is fantastic.
The wave/ocean models are very realistic feeling.

10/10 - I whole heartedly recommend!

This game plays like a mobile game.

Moving your view around is tedious, each of the abilities are multiple mouse clicks away, and there is no obvious tutorial that I could find.

Sure, it's a simple game, but compared to a similar pirate game released in 2006, this doesn't even come close!

This review is about their multiplayer only.

The game itself, and the multiplayer is one of the best in the series thus far. Even having a PC that is below the minimum requirements I am able to play this game at over 30-50 FPS. Occasionally the game will dip below 20, but that is on a rare occasion.

Weapons feel great, the movement feels smooth, and the armour abilities are balanced. An enjoyable multiplayer experience.

That said, these are items that don't affect the gameplay but must be mentioned:

You cannot select the gametype you are to play. You can only select a playlist of games. This becomes a problem when you don't want to play slayer or any other type of game mode. This is also a huge problem with the challenge system, especially if you're stuck on having to complete an objective based challenge.

The Challenge and XP system is terrible. This is the BIGGEST downfall of the multiplayer experience. Unlike Reach, the only experience you obtain is by completing the challenges or finishing a match. That's it. The daily challenge at the time of writing this is simply complete a match. You start with 300 XP and each match it is a little less, 200, 100, until you hit 50. This is a decent way to encourage players to return daily to get a bigger bonus at the start. The weekly challenges are decently challenging, but sometimes you get a mode specific challenge. For example, kill 3 ball carriers, or capture 5 flags. If you don't get that gamemode, you cannot progress the challenge system. Yes, there are reroll tokens you can use to swap them out, but you have to unlock them at higher levels (again a grind), or purchase them off their freemium market.

Here's where it gets frustrating: You could have an ABSOLUTELY baller of a game. You could dominate the other team, you could get top slot on the list... but that means absolutely nothing. You don't get extra XP, you don't get ANYTHING. If it's you 6th game of the night you get 50 XP (out of the 1000 to level up). And that's it. So there is absolutely no incentive to get any of these amazing feats. And to further this, in previous games they featured the player of the game and showed you their medals. So if you were top dog, it paid. In this game, you are shown your own stats and it is actually a pain to find your other teammate stats!

In terms of their free to play model, it's really terrible. As a freemium model, you only get one type of armour. Then when you unlock certain levels to obtain helmets, they are specific to a model (either the Mk V or the Mk VII). In addition, colours and visors that you unlock are also armour type specific. The FREE colours and the paid colours also don't vary with enough degree. Example: There is Cadet blue and there is Carter blue. Literally the only difference you can see is your chin is grey for Carter.

What this game needs to make this game the best experience:
- Visors need to be unanimous across all armour types.
- Colours need to be unanimous across all armour types.
- XP needs to be awarded for medals.
- The end of game stats need to show the VIP player.
- The matchmaking system needs to allow you to pick a gametype.

I look forward to to the campaign when it releases in a day. I will update my review then.

An MMO in Star Trek form.

This game is very good for nostalgia and works well overall.

PROS:
++ Free! Yes you can purchase in game ships for cash, but I have not felt the need to. It doesn't not appear to be Pay2Win from my stand point, which is great!
++ You can customize your ship look. You don't have to stick to a specific class of ship. ie. you can have you nacelles, body, saucer, windows, and hull texture all different. On top of that you can add a dual tone colour to the entire ship.
++ Ship selection? HUGE!
++ Character customization is very good. You can have nearly ANY race and customize it completely!
+ Voice acting for nearly all text is fairly good. The main story missions seem to be completely voiced, wheras the secondary missions are generic voice overs.
+ Interesting story missions lead you through it's "campain".
+ Visuals are quite nice.
+ Runs very smoothly.

CONS:
-- I feel unecessarily restricted in the amount of bridge officers I am allowed to employ or even have on reserve. And if you want to switch them out, you have to sacrifice them for a training book. Very strange and not intuitive at first. A better system would be to allow double the officers to be hired but employ only half at a time, being able to hot-swap them in/out as required. Sort of like shore leave at a station - come back for them later.
- Some missions are still bugged years after release. Requiring a restart in order to be unstuck. This has only been a minor setback, but could easily be fixed.
- Some mission urge you to "HURRY HURRY!" but you can actually just decline to beam down to the surface and fly around to scan/collect all of the resources.
- 3 dimensional flying of your ship is possible, but not as much as you would like. You are stuck to a 45 degree nose up or down attitude and cannot completely roll/loop over. This leads to some restrictive movement when you want to get the upper hand in ship-ship combat.
- GUI is VERY full for a newcomer. I feel as if the GUI could use an overhaul to remove unecessary buttons.

OVERALL:
I am very pleased with this game, and for the price of FREE you cannot argue. It is games like this that I don't mind spending a few real life dollars to unlock some high end ships. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for any Trekkie out there!

The solo campaign is great. Love the story-line.

GTA Online - solo = garbage.
GTA Online - multiplayer = ok.
GTA Online - multiplayer with friends = HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
