Your text is undeniably cleverly written, but it is only that: rhetoric, a trick as old as time. I agree that standards define the absolute baseline, however, this standard does not need to be, as you say, codified and rigid. Instead the standard should celebrate the human essence: creativity. It should serve as a reminder that we must break free from the monotonous life that corporate organisations push upon us and that is trying to turn us into mindless buying machines. In turning my profile into the standard– one I have crafted carefully with energy, time and imaginativeness, you will quickly realise that it serves as an inspiration for others to use their creative powers to do the same. We cannot escape a standard, we can only change it for the better. (1/4)

Not having a standard is simply impossible, seeing as we live in a society. There must always be a baseline. The standard, the default. If we do not have a standard set by a real human, an ideal that we as ♥♥♥♥ sapiens sapiens can strive to achieve, something else will simply take its place. In this case it would be the bland default profile you currently possess: lackluster and void of personality. The potential is dangling right in front of your eyes, but in an attempt of appearing unbothered you reject it. Instead of having a profile of which shows who you are and tells a unique and personal story you choose a profile that adheres to the standard set by a company. You are buying into the very concept that you are arguing against. (2/4)

This naturally brings us onto the topic of capitalism. The default profiles are deliberately designed to be boring, monotonous, and bland to make people yearn for something better. We must not think that by rejecting the idea of a personal profile we renounce the idea that a company should gain profit from how you as an individual chooses to express yourself. This is swimming at the surface level; we must plunge into the deep sea.

By trying to resist the idea that a company should gain profit from your individualism you will instead be stuck with a monotonous profile. This might in turn affect your self image and make it into reality, even though that is not who you actually are. Your greed of wanting to reject the idea of capitalism (upon which our entire society is built) will be the doom of individualism, as you have argued that setting a standard will do. You are the device of your own downfall. (3/4)
