So far I'm definitely enjoying it!

I've been looking forward to this for a while. The best way I can describe it is Tony Hawk meets Spider-Man meets Assassin's Creed. Combat and gameplay is smooth and enjoyable. Spell system seems rich enough to keep me interested and the story is campy but enjoyable. Lots to like with this one.

Some stuff that doesn't thrill me is the same-y ness of some of the enemies, (but I'm not that far in) I'm also not a huge fan of how many pauses there are in the gameplay during dialogue and quest activation & turn in sequences. There is a pretty dramatic HALT in the momentum of the story following an early plot beat, and that was tough.

Overall happy I am playing for sure. Def don't think the game deserves the flak its getting at all. Is not a 10/10 by any stretch, But so far it gets a solid 7.5-8. Looking forward to continuing my journey with this game.

Also worth noting that while I did apply and get approved for a free copy of the game, I would have made the purchase myself had a been denied during the review copy application process. So take that for what it's worth.

Destiny 2 has come a long way since its launch over 2 years ago. Between Bungie claiming its independence from Activision and changing some of the core philosophies about the game, it's safe to say that this is not the same title that we started playing in 2017.
The new seasonal model that Destiny has adopted is working well to keep players regularly engaged with plenty to do and chase. While some may suggest (myself included) that the ratio of microtransaction cosmetics is skewed a bit too far towards purchases, this can simply be chalked up as an unfortunate side-effect of a VERY large now independent studio keeping the lights on without a big publisher's wallet to back them.
Destiny is an incredibly enjoyable experience, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastically addicting looter-shooter inside a universe full of rich lore and imaginative storytelling.
