Genuinely beautiful game. Good balance between being simple enough that it basically feels like an interactive visual novel and having some decently good puzzles that make you have to focus and experiment. If anyone wants to know how someone can consider a video game art without being a 60+ hour epic with lore and super in-depth characters this is a prime example. It made feel emotions I didn't expect to feel and it did it without feeling cheap or lazy. It makes real feelings and real challenges and real struggles people go through very accessible and relatable. 10/10

This game is a great new addition to Assassin's Creed. As someone who started with AC 1 almost 2 decades ago it's honestly great to see how the franchise has managed to navigate its way through the time and finally get a time period fans had been begging to see ever since the beginning. Feudal Japan is a BIG place to explore with a lot of interesting characters and a compelling story that AC fans have come to expect. Naoe and Yasuke feel like a more complete version of the gameplay the Frye twins were supposed to embody. Yasuke is built for straight forward combat encounters but can still do most basic stealth but he'll feel heavier and can't parkour as well as Naoe. And Naoe is more what you would expect from a traditional AC protagonist. While still being capable of taking head on fights she isn't nearly as tanky or as powerful as Yasuke. With all the different outfits and customization you can inject a lot of your personality into them if you want or you can style them more to fit the changing seasons and their current place in the story. You can customize weapons to a pretty large degree too which is always cool.

Base building is back which is super fun. I'm sure there's a part in the story where you'll need to defend it or reclaim it but I'm not there yet but customizing my layout and aesthetic has been oddly compelling which is weird because usually I'm not big on games where it's a main mechanic but here it just feels really cool to gather allies and start designing a new home for all the people you come to know. You can make it more practical looking like a fortress or make it more welcoming with gardens and shrines and fountains. And with all the castles and towns you'll be visiting there's plenty to help inspire your taste as you upgrade and edit it.

Classic eagle vision is back which is awesome. Dialogue and skill trees are back. And compared to Odyssey which was great for replays I think this one has a little more to offer. You can run into future quest enemies completely by accident and it might actually influence the outcome of the quest. There seems to be different ways of approaching certain quest specific characters where you can spare them or kill them through how you play and not just because of dialogue which is cool but can be frustrating at times because there's no unarmed combat and seems to be no way without companions or abilities to do so.

Overall I think this is a really good game so far and definitely worth getting for AC fans that want a new story to experience.

iz gud n fun. Needs some more quality of life changes like extending the ping delay to make pinging enemies easier bc right now it is really hard to get a normal ping off without opening the ping wheel but overall it is a solid game

Awesome fun especially with friends, solo survivor games are honestly a coin toss of whether you'll have a fun game or not though but overall experience is still worth buying
