Best game of 2023 even though I still loved Baldur's Gate 3 for that position up to this game. They are both amazing, but for different reasons. This game just has more of what I want... I tend to lean more Sci-Fi fan than Fantasy fan even though I love both. It's going to boil down to personal preference which game gets game of the year, but you can bet it's one of these two. The aspects of ship and base building and industrial production (which can get surprisingly in depth... not quite Factorio tier, but it had elements) These things helped push this game up above BG3 for me.

All I know is, as an old school RPG fan this is the best year for gaming in a very very long time... we are all coming out as winners this year.
