Been a fan since destiny 1. There is an overwhelming amount of things to do nowadays. The DLC is NOT required although I would highly reccomend it. Looter shooter at its best (there is an argument to be had there for sure) My only problem is that pvp is peer to peer so you will experience laggy opponents/weird stuff alot. The games biggest downfall IMO
