It's got a good story, cool characters, good environment, mystery, and the visual appeal is cute.

While you can come across jerks who will harass you, it isn't always a thing. You can't join Posse or Crew specific/only sessions like you can on GTA 5 Online, which sucks. I personally enjoy collecting things and exploring on games and I like games with multiple things to do and jobs to get and progress so this is cool. Collecting rare items, collectibles, horses, clothing, and the job tasks is fun and plentiful. There are several "Roles" you can do where you can do specific jobs/missions to level them up and unlock new items.
Events and missions, even on free roam, are available and useful. You also have the option to play as a "good guy" or "bad guy" which is cool.

Fun game with lots to do. The open world is nice. I personally enjoy collecting things and exploring in games so all the items, jobs, collectibles, cars, exploration, and event things are amazing.
Online is iffy. Some players online are jerks and will grief, sometimes it's decent. I prefer crew only sessions personally and mainly but sometimes I'll join a random session for a change of pace.
Multiplayer in terms of missions are hit or miss in terms of good teammates.

Best with friends, though solo player is available and easy as well. The new changes aren't terrible and they're easy to learn. There are ample types of entities and the content is good. The character models COULD use some tweaking and sometimes the bones and items will glitch (rarely) and will go into or under the environment. Other than that, it seems like they're still doing well.
No, devs, PLEASE don't listen to the small minority freaks and add "content" for pandering purposes. 10/10 a way to LOSE players rather than gain them.

Cute style. You don't have to be a Hello Kitty fan to enjoy it. Customization is more limited than expected but it's not terrible.
Easy to understand game.

The first Resident Evil game I've personally played. I HAVE watched my husband play the others in the series and I was playing co-op with him.
The zombies sometimes get stuck on the terrain which can be both helpful and annoying. It's helpful because they don't come after you & they're basically sitting ducks for pelting full of holes and annoying if you need to kite it around to kill them.
The graphics were odd in terms of the way the characters' mouths moved when they talked but otherwise everything else was okay.
I'm not sure if it's because I knew a bit about the story already so I wasn't as behind or confused starting at 5 in the series or not but I wasn't as lost story wise.
