Basically a $15 or $20 DLC for Dying Light 2. The only differences are that the map is nicer looking albeit smaller with slightly less copy+pasted interiors/buildings, driving which feels like an afterthought, pretty decent gunplay, beast mode, no glider, and not as much overall content.

This game still has a lot of the problems I have with Dying Light 2, and that mainly has to do with the quality of the content being offered. Dark zones are insanely boring and repetitive, stamina is still unbalanced and feels poorly implemented, resource balancing and traders still feel poorly balanced (like I have maxed out scrap but I'm struggling to find wire and resin(for context, most mods and gadgets require a lot of both of these)), Skills/leveling/gear qualities feel entirely arbitrary and not thought out in any meaningful way, map geometry problems making player collision break or making it impossible to pick up loot/items but way worse in DLTB, still no mark for favorite/junk and dismantling taking forever, can't scrap gadgets, pretty much no end game, more usage of the lame pilgrim outpost garbage instead of adding things to the game in an interesting way where we can play to earn them.

I believe having different difficulty settings in these games is a bad thing and they should probably be removed. For context, I played on Brutal through the entirety of the game and it was an unfun slog. It felt awful to play overall. The only thing that felt reasonable was fighting Volatiles and enemies with guns, they reasonably hit hard. The downside is that pretty much everything else was a sponge and not fun to fight. Resources were also a pain to deal with. Everything required either a lot of wires or resin, and the game would rarely give me these resources even with a full suit of scavenger gear. I would typically never mod my weapons because I never had any wire or resin, I ended up with a legendary tomahawk putting full bleed mods on it and just never using anything else after.

Undoubtedly this game will be permeated with low quality DLC like the first and second game that entirely break the immersion, progression, and/or aesthetics. It's inevitable at this point. DLC has always been one of my main issues with the Dying Light games as a whole and I feel they ruin the intended progression of the games in some instances. I've always had the mindset of 'More focus on DLC is less focus on the game'.

I'm really glad I didn't buy this game at full price and it just randomly appeared in my steam library. I would not recommend buying this at full price as there's actually not much to the game. $60 is a ludicrous price point for what essentially feels like a DLC for DL2. If you do want to play it, just get it on sale.

Unbelievably, not even joking or trying to be contrarian, this is probably THE worst game I have ever played.
I have a pretty substantial amount of time put into KF1(1k collectively) and KF2(almost 3k), and this game feels so far removed from both of them it physically pains me. I definitely hated on this game, but I did also want to at least give it a shot, because maybe it played decent, who knows. I was completely wrong, and I think Tripwire has finally given me a good enough reason to finally never purchase another new video game.

Actually playing it, even on Normal difficulty feels insanely bad. I don't know how else to describe it other than it is a mess. A massive mess.

Animations are by far some of the worst I've ever seen, this ties into the ZED animations as well, which look really bad. The Fleshpound rage animations are sooooo bad. Weapon animations lack any sort of heft to them and feel really jittery and stiff, shooting is INCREDIBLY terrible, like, some of the worst feeling guns ever. To compare, Back 4 Blood has WAY better gun animations overall, alongside feedback. Feedback overall is pretty much not really there at all. Killing Cysts and Clots feels cartoony. Headshots and bodyshots blend together and I never know what I'm really shooting unless something dies.

Sound design is practically nonexistent, ZEDs don't really stand out properly or have any sense of personality (ZEDs are mutated humans and can SPEAK and TAUNT and have MANNERISMS) . The weapon sounds are pretty bland and don't sound like I'm shooting bullets. Even bullet weapons sound like I'm shooting lasers. Voice acting is not very good, cringey millennial reddit quirky dialogue mixed with boring monotone voicework. Kinda feels like nobody directed the voice actors, they recorded the lines once and shipped it. Pretty much low effort. I could do better.

Music is, meh. Kinda generic electronic metal.

Movement feels HORRIBLE, the dodge feels really clunky, the slide is entirely unnecessary, mantling is admittedly a great idea but the camera flicking up or down to the center of the screen is really painful to have to watch.

Hub area is completely unnecessary, it takes WAY too long to get into a game. Just make it a menu or server browser. Perks being tied to characters should NEVER have been a thing from the get go. Not having a med syringe be rechargeable and can't be used on teammates makes no sense. Having no weight system is stupid, locked to 2 weapons is really dumb. There is no Stalker, for whatever reason, or Patriarch for that matter. There's no welder. There's no Support, Demo, SWAT, Berserker, Gunslinger(even though they say they're adding GS first). You can't move around after killing a boss. Bosses have no personality and are just big dumb monsters. There aren't any ammo, armor, weapon pickups (as far as I'm aware), instead we can just buy ammo and use a tool to get armor mid-wave (midwit balancing). Probably a lot more things but I can't think of any right now. You get the point though.

KF2 early access was 50x better than this. And that came on in 2015...

Save your money. If you want to play a good horde shooter, go play KF1 or 2, Black Ops 3 zombies, Left 4 Dead 2, World War Z, Vermintide 2, Darktide, Payday 2, Helldivers 2. Most of those games you can get for pennies and they all play SIGNIFICANTLY better in every aspect. Some even have really expansive custom maps and workshop content. There is NO reason to play this.

P.S. Molly you suck and are a terrible community manager.

Please stop updating this game.

Please stop adding 3 achievements every update that I can get all at once.

Please stop forcing me to reinstall this game just to get my 100% for the 100th time.

Tripwire/Saber/whoever the ♥♥♥♥ is updating this corpse of a game, I love KF2 but please let it die and please move on to another project.

Also unban me from the community I did nothing wrong. :weed:
