AUUUGHH I'M HIGHGAURDING EVERYWHERE

Memes aside the game isn't actually that bad, if you can get used to how it works after the first match or two.

The inspirations this game takes from others is evidently clear, and the end product is something that's actually decently fun. The install size is actually normal, and it runs just fine on my mid-high end PC. If you care about lore, there doesn't appear to be a narrative of any kind tying it all together. Hopefully they work on this.

Overall, I thought I'd just uninstall it after playing it as a joke, but here I am recommending it gets a fair shot for a handful of matches.

Splinter Cell meets Hotline Miami, with a fun plot and an extremely passionate solo dev. Also, the level editor is majorly underrated. What more do you want? If this all sounds appealing, then buy this game - it's worth it.

One year of a rocky launch and rocky updates, and the game is finally where it should've been at launch.

MUCH better.

If you're a Payday 2 player (like me) and are wondering whether the game's worth getting or playing now, now's the time. The Year 1 edition is worth it on sale.

If you've seen the gameplay and it looks kickass, that's because it is.

Despite the MTX meddling of Namco, this game clearly has a passionate team behind it. Recent negative reviews on the decision to charge $5 for the latest stage (despite the last stage being free??? WTF Namco) are rightfully angry, but don't let it turn you from the fantastic game that exists as a whole.

There are a handful of very strong characters that sit at the top of most tier-lists. However, if you're not playing at the tippety-top level, then it more comes down to how comfortable you are with your character, matchup knowledge (which you'll get naturally overtime as you fight different characters), and if you can out-read your opponent faster than they can out-read you.

A fantastic mode for new players exists in Arcade Quest that's specifically made to break new players into the game, as well get them comfortable with a character of their choice across a fun (but basic) mini-story.

After you've done that, then please, for the love of God, hop into RANKED, NOT QUICKPLAY.

Ranked has better matchmaking, specifically meant to track your skill level from match-to-match and pit you against similar opponents. If you're wondering how to best pick a character, just go with who's aesthetic and gameplay looks coolest to you and go from there. You might jump from character-to-character for a bit, but you'll find one you click with (It's a 32 character base roster). The rest is up to you, champ! Starting out is a rocky trail, but the better you get, the funner it gets. Focus on just a character's best moves, just one simple combo, and build on that overtime.

Not to mention an excellent story mode, that appears to be getting FREE EXPANSIONS.

Bottom line, I love this game. It's a fantastic, worthy successor to Tekken 7 and backed by a team that's been working on the series for a long time and clearly loves it, it's story, it's characters, and it's community. To let it sink because of Namco's MTX tomfoolery would be a colossal shame. The correct response, in my opinion, is to simply not buy the stage and let Namco see its low sales.

If you've read all this and you're thinking of buying it, I highly recommend it! If you're new to Tekken or fighting games, don't be spooked. They're a many resources online to help you learn a character, and they are many new players in ranked that you can learn the game fighting against.

Was able to defeat Bane after 1 hour of training.

10/10 would humiliate Batman again.
