Great game, and one that I come to appreciate more and more every day. It's the type of game where there's so much to learn that you just keep coming back and compulsively jumping in training mode just to learn things and practice and find new and satisfying combos and set-ups. It was a game that i loved when i just started playing fighting games because the inputs were easy enough to learn but hard enough to where I felt accomplished in learning them. It's also a game i cannot put down to this day, even for advanced fighting game players, the mechanical depth and netcode just make it such that when i want to play a fighting game, it's hard for me to pick something else. Also it has properly implemented GGPO rollback netcode. I've literally played people from across the world (eastern Europe) and barely felt a difference from offline. This is incredible for fighting games, where the standard is garbage delay based netcode. Just be courteous to your opponents and try to avoid playing on WiFi whenever possible. Tutorials are pretty good too, from what i've played, but if you're brand new to fighting games, i'd plan on playing through it multiple times, or in small increments, because it throws a lot of stuff at you that you pretty much must know to succeed in game.

Now for some Cons:
-The lobby system has some issues, where sometimes they just don't function properly, requiring you to restart the lobby, which can be kind of a pain in the ass when you've got an 8 person lobby.

-The game is also in a very late stage in it's competitive life, thus as a newer player you will need to seek out other new players to practice and play against (the discord has a beginner tag for this reason), since many of the players populating quick play (which has no ranking system) are veterans of the game and will absolutely destroy you with nearly perfectly tuned team compositions, conversions, resets and mixups. If you haven't played a lot of this game, and fighting games more generally, you will be absolutely steam rolled, and you'll feel like you barely played. However, that still happens when you've played hundreds of hours, you just understand that these team-based tag fighters are like that. You can die incredibly quickly. What feels great is learning to deal with all of it and subsequently doing it to other players.

Overall: Just buy the game dude. It goes on sale so often for so little money you may as well give it a shot, join the discord, ask some questions and start learning. Nothing feels better than finding a dirty little reset or mixup or an optimal new combo or powerful setup and hitting someone with it. That feeling is addictive.

This game. This game. This ♥♥♥♥ is incredible, the shooting, the enemy designs, the sprites, the gun diversity, the upgrades. everything. As a fan of old school shooters, you will enjoy this. If you are a fan of modern shooters, you should maybe try this too. It's inexpensive, good for at least 10 hours of fun, and has some aspects of modern games like light RPG mechanics and weapon upgrades that you will enjoy. Lots of secrets to go find if you're a completionist.

The only thing i hated were the lava pits in the last episode. They seemed so out of place in a limited lives, movement focused shooter. However, you will more than likely have plenty of lives to survive a plunge or two, so it's not THAT bad.

I love Borderlands, but ♥♥♥♥ 2K games for ruining a masterpiece of a franchise by forcing spyware, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ business practices, and a terrible launcher on of loyal fans of these games.

Obviously, this is a classic game, and Dos box functions well enough. However, if you want to experience the game in a better way, I'd reccomend using the WAD files from this purchase and use a source port of the game. there are several, and all pretty much function the same, but they give you a ton of options. This is a great way to experience a classic and support the developer,

This game was rushed out, but this doesnt take away from how great the core gameplay of the title is. The lack of arcade mode is a mild annoyance for me (from a consumer's point of view), but as someone who is almost always playing online, this doesnt bother me much, as the lore and story of street fighter isnt exactly some masterpiece of a work that everyone must know and revisit. Its sole purpose is to provide some backstory for why your character is beating the ♥♥♥♥ out of your buddy's. Thus really the main thing that matters, is indeed gameplay. The more footsies based, short combo, more back and fourth style of this game is both noob friendly and very enjoyable for more seasoned fighting game enthusiests. I think the gameplay is brilliant, and i wish we'd talk more about that than all the content that wasn't there at launch.

This is a fantastic game, But i would not recommend purchasing the game just yet as it is still just very poorly optimized. So wait for a few patches and then but it when its a bit cheeper. still a great game however,
