Wish i could forego the thumb ratings, as I can't really thumb down or up based on an hour.

Honestly, just didn't enjoy the combat. Felt random and unresponsive. The tutorial fight just kept going.
Just isn't for me. I WANT to like this game but I can see myself just getting frustrated.

Edit: and here come the jesters from fgtty fanboys. It’s ok for people to not enjoy gameplay. You expect me to bang my head against the wall and not have fun? Game feels weird with a mouse so hard pass

This "remaster" has more issues than SR3's original release. Couldn't play Co-op with my friend because of the constant glitches and disconnections. It wasn't our internet connections either since we've been playing together for over a decade.

Middle Thumber. Would recommend getting this on a 50% or lower sale.

I do like the game but it took me some time to start enjoying it. But not enough to give it the thumbs up (I hate steam's binary rating, retarded fan boys will jester all thumb downs without reading)

The game isn't friendly to people inexperienced with DnD, or new players in general. I thought going in with experience with Larian's previous game (and older titles like Fallout 1/2) would help me a bit but it didn't.

I didn't start enjoying the combat until I was like level 5, that's when characters actually start feeling useful. Prior to that there's a lot of missed attacks, low damage rolls from the player and high damage rolls from the enemies. The dice definitely feels weighted to the enemy's advantage. The game doesn't really teach the importance of stacking up advantages/disadvantages. So having high Strength and High AC isn't really enough to get you by on a fighter character. It got tiresome hitting for 2-3 (if i was lucky), receiving 10-15 and reloading saves.

My 2 biggest gripes with this game are the following:

A lot of inconsistency in how the game relays information. The log will break down everything, down to stats and di rolls. Very detailed. However tool tips and descriptions will often have misinformation or missing information. Which is a problem considering that this RPG is very "Problem Solving skills" focused (Or, at least i think that's what it's aiming for). And inconsistency results in artificial difficulty in some points.

Example: Traps have a perception roll. In Act 3 i'm in this tomb area and when I open a chest some trap is triggered, there was no perception check for this trap. The game broke it's own rule. But i figured "ok, this containers having this cursed smoke sealed inside, i will avoid opening them" I see a spear in an already open grave and when I touch it cursed smoke appears. Cool. The game breaks an established rule, sets up what seems to be a new one and then breaks that. For what reason? I felt like my intelligence and deduction skills were undermined.

2nd Issue isn't related to gameplay but the engine/graphics. I'm playing this game on a 4070ti, 5800x, 32gb ram and an SSD. Why does it take 10 minutes to load into the game only to see that half the textures/assets are missing. This game is not that graphically impressive and there's been 7 (soon to be 8) patches. If this was an Ubisoft/EA/Bethesda game people would ♥♥♥♥ on it, but i guess because it's a smaller company it gets a free pass right?

Things I do like

Combat, once the builds come "online" it's so satisfying. Like bullying people in a game of chess. Does require levels, stats and a decent bit of equipment but once you've got a build going, it's going hard.

Presentation is vast improvement over Divinity OS2, that's an obvious one. Outside of the immersion breaking graphical bugs I think the world, exploration, characters and writing is great. If not for these then I might not have slogged through act one and hated the game.

Being able to experiment. Respeccing is relatively cheap so rebuilding after getting gear or boons that boost you stats allows you to spread out a bit.

The lack of camera control and weird physics made the platforming rough in places. Could be a high FPS issue

Well, I give it a thumb up because I've loved this game since 2011. But as a "remaster" it's a pittance. The textures look very 2006, especially during the Big Boner level with the telephone dial.

There's no settings you'd expect from a PC port. No Res, No graphics, no fps, no v-sync, nothing. Even the audio is 1 slider for everything. I wanted to lower the effects to hear the dialogue better but you can't do it.

Honestly, this feels like an emulation more than anything. Even calling it a PC port is generous.

Still... for the price, it's a good game for good price. I'd recommend it if you're a fan of ♥♥♥♥ jokes and Resident Evil 4.

UPDATE AFTER FINISHING:
It kinda feels like a demaster tbh. I think there's bugs tied to it being 60fps instead of 30, i don't recall having problems with the camera, physics or crashes back in the day,

Also the new features are worthless.

NG+ you can't change the difficulty. So you gotta fresh start on all 3 difficulties if you want all achievements (Playing hard doesn't net you Easy/Normal)

Costumes only available in NG+
