Far superior to Blood Bowl 3, far more content, better visuals, older rules are bareable when its this much more engaging.

Visuals feel very muddy and ill-defined even on max, though there is considerably more detailed stuff going on in the stadiums. After switching to high it makes me feel slightly less queasy but it still feels like the entire game needs the contrast turned up.

After playing a while longer I realise most Bob and Jim lines are exactly the same recordings as BB2, there is no longer facial animation when a player is celebrating or yelling audibly, and overall the passive animations feel samey and uninteresting. Players no longer wave or stretch when you select and ready them. The awkwardly fixed camera angles really lose the cinematic vibe of sticking your head down level with the table.

Playing against the computer has 3 dice rolls happen simultaneously as you're not given time to observe what's happening due to the camera snapping. Sometimes the computer sits thinking for several seconds and occasionally seems to chug the framerate.

Feels like a lot was drained from BB2 in the transition to BB3. Perhaps the NAF lined their pockets and ran once more, all the soul has been taken with it.

Early Access Review
Despite my negative review Terracards is not a bad game by a long stretch.

The game is SEVERELY lacking a proper tutorial and/or tool tips that explain how mechanics work as you unlock them beyond the basic ones in the tutorial. It's a very complex game when you get into the nitty-gritty but if I hadn't have stuck through it and tried learning i would not have understood. At times I think some of the refined items are simply too convoluted to create and finding their selling price is particularly hard. I think the codex needs to have much clearer categories and show information in a more concise, listed way so that you can quickly browse through your development options.

Another major issue I had on my longest playthrough was machines being obscured by trees and unable to be right clicked to select their output. It would make a big difference to have uninteractable objects become transparent so that objects behind could be interacted with if moused over.

If you want a bit of a head-scratcher puzzle game Terrcards makes for a fun hour or so on the odd occasion. I can't say I'd be playing it every day but having occasional sessions trying out different mechanics seems like a good time. If you can get past the lack of explanation and are prepared to fiddle a bit it's a nice game that just needs a lot of UI improvement. If you need something to pick up fast and quick however I wouldn't recommend it at this time.

Brain itching rouge-like puzzle action. Funny dialogue/story and an addictive game play loop.

Campaign so far feels like a 2010s game in the best way it can be. Proper solid chunky gaming, lovely atmosphere and visuals, actually being able to save guardsmen instead of them dying cinematically mid game. Leads on nicely from the first, proposed lore for the sequel originally and blends into the new lore excellently.

On a less great note the PVP doesn't really feel right at the moment; sound feels muted, readability for damage and audibility of abilities feels non existent at points. Matchmaking is horrible and feels like it has no balancing. Capture Points game mode is a massive feels bad of one team walking over the other. Death match has felt a lot nicer and gets more team play since you're not trying to dive onto the point. Customisation is extremely in depth but extremely limiting, requiring you to go and unlock basic colours and markings.

Haven't tried PVE yet but will update when I do.

For the extremely reasonable price this is possibly the best solo/co-op action shooter you can buy on steam.

Either some of the best and most engaging gameplay of your life, or the most abysmal slogfest you just want to end.

But when you get 10 people who are playing at their best you get a hell of a game. Some of the best esports viewing also.
