X4 is a grand simulation sandbox game with very little hand holding. It's not for people looking for a casual gaming experience or who are easily confused. The tutorials alone can take hours to complete, and you will not remember it all. This is normal.

You will know if you like games like this before you buy them; it will not be a question. If you're not sure; then you probably don't. If you like games like Kenshi or Mount & Blade, you'll likely enjoy X4 as well.

A solid entry in the Spellforce series and a well made Grand Strategy RPG.

Kenshi is like an angry offline MMO RTS RPG emergent story sadness simulator sandbox.
A game built strictly on pain and possibilities.

I did not like this game. Very cheesy feeling. Felt kind of like a mobile game for some reason. Maybe it was the art style, maybe it was the terrible and poorly translated writing. IDK. Felt really cheap; like it belongs on a phones' mobile app store, not a gaming platform. This feels like a game you would play on a phone, IDK why. It's very off putting. I can't stand mobile games so this game is not for me, which is a shame, because I love games like Noita.

The little bit I was able to play was fun, but there was trouble with running it on my version Linux for some reason, regardless of compatibility layer. I decided to request a refund until Linux is officially supported. Devs are cordial and are receptive to hearing feedback, which is always a good thing for an early access title. I look forward to returning to the game when it's compatible with Linux or Proton.

A great game for people who like hiking but hate nature.
