This program has become my go to for all my game development needs, and I've used it to make the art for several games. I highly recommend it, although the file browsing system could be a little bit more intuitive regardless of it's retro charm.

As a long time Saints Row fan, when I first saw this game I was worried it was going to be Volition's attempt to be a leech on the underbelly of Overwatch's success by making a game that capitalizes on the same themes Overwatch became so successful on. Minus an art style and a font, they are two completely different games - I mean, after all, would you say Wind Waker and Borderlands are the same game?

In Agents of Mayhem, long time Volition fans are rewarded with a new experience that they can translate the things they learned from the Saints Row games into, giving them an instant edge and a feeling of familiarity in an unfamiliar environment that feels open and primed for exploration.

And yet, this is not a Saints Row game. Although there are familiar faces, a familiar control scheme, and the engine is somewhat reminiscent of the Saints Row IV engine, this game truly stands out by itself, and it feels like the natural progression for Volition as a studio. I don't miss Saints Row, and I don't think they should have made a Saints Row game instead. This game scratches every itch for me that Saints Row scratched, and even a few more that I didn't realize I had.

One of my friends mentioned that this game "controls like a dream" and I couldn't agree more. From the triple jumping, to the combat, to the satisfying feeling you get when you complete a perfect drift on a corner in a car that you could have sworn you saw in Saints Row 3 minus a much more detailed model and pretty texture.

This game is generally just great. Probably going to be my personal game of the year. As a Volition fanboy who has played every game from the original Saints Row up to this game - good job Volition.

Basically Civilization V with blander visuals, unnecesarily complicated mechanics, poor optimization and clunky user interface. I really wanted to like this game, due to my affection for Civilization V, but now all I can do is hope Civilization VI learns from the mistakes of this title that simply shouldn't have been made.

Early Access Review
Really fluid, solid, fun gameplay, with some awesome mechanics. One of the few games that has genuinely given me a sense of boylike wonder in quite some time. Perhaps adjustments could be made to gravity shifts as they do not feel seamless, but honestly if this is a design choice to make the player choose between speed or safety, it works quite well.

Maybe User Interface could look sharper, but it does not take away from the fun of the game as a whole and it definitely does not make it a worse game.

Although quite linear, with not much replayability value, Game Dev Tycoon manages to successfully make players feel as though they are actually running a game studio, regardless of the games realism. Replayability value is not really very high, once you have completed the game once, any saves after that you will most likely spend trying to be more efficient at completing the game. Maybe you'll try to make more money, or perhaps get more fans. Ultimately, your end goal will be exactly the same.

Winning the game is not hard either, one simply has to memorize the ratios in which time allocation needs to be set to for each individual genre, and which genres go well with which topics. Ultimately, it's less about skill and more about knowledge, and that knowledge is a google search away.

Regardless of its flaws, it is still a very fun way to spend one's time.

Game Corp DX is fun, and I have invested quite a few hours into it. That does not make it a great game. It is by no means original (Game Dev Tycoon probably inspired a lot of this game), nor has it much depth. In addition, the game is quite linear and once you've completed it once, there really is nothing new for you to experience. You can try and make your studio more efficient, but you're not really achieving anything you haven't already. In spite of this, it is still a rather entertaining timewaster and is a nice way to spend a few hours relaxing.

Difficult to get a hang of and a steep learning curve, but satisfying as hell. Also probably educational.
