Right now there is a review bombing that makes NO SENSE against this game. So I'm going to divide this review first addressing this review bombing, and then the review of the game.

About the review bombing: the current event basically is that Super Earth is being invaded by an alien fleet. We thought these aliens were exterminated in Helldivers 1, but turns out they were alive, so we exterminated them in Helldivers 2.

After a party were everyone thought these aliens were defeated again, they invaded again with this giant fleet to target Super Earth, and we are defending the heart of our government as I speak.

Super Earth is divided in some mega cities, one of them being Equality-on-Sea. Yeah, you can guess it: it is in China. So people from China that play the game, that we will call right now China Divers, went crazy and organized to defend this mega city. At this point, only the capital of Super Earth: Prosperity City (Sweden) and Equality-on-Sea are still standing, and only Equality-on-Sea is predicted to surviva.

Nobody have a problem so far. After all, we navigate the events and create the story for the game, within limits.

The reason for the review bombing? The chinese community THOUGHT that they can liberate COMPLETELY Equality-on-Sea. This is obviously a mistake on their part since whe are under constant invasion. It doesn't matter if it is Prosperity City, Remembrance City (Argentina) or Equality-on-Sea. We are under CONSTANT invasion. Max number of liberation % is 99, because there will always be enemies invading. Actually reaching 99% is a huge achievement for the chinese players, but obviously they will never completely stop the invasion. At least not like that.

So the next problem: is Equality-on-Sea then scripted to fall?

NO, because we have it at 99% and WE CAN STOP THE INVASION! How can we stop the invasion?

SIMPLY BY HOLDING AT LEAST A MEGA CITY BY THE END OF THE EVENT, which is in 2 days.

Summary: Chinese divers did an incredible job at everything except reading the objetive of the event.

About the game? Amazing. I can simply say that. Arrowhead, the devs, hear the players, they write an amazing story that we help create by our choices at defending X or Y planets, or fail an event or succes on another.

Just as an example of this, we had an event where Malevelon Creek (Space Vietnam) was going to be invaded but we used the game features (a space station that helps with defense) in a very epic way that translated into stopping the enemy in another planet. Basically the enemy never reached Malevelon Creek.

Everything in this game is like a Michael Bay film, you see explosions, screams, you constantly run out of ammunition, constantly have to heal, run, dodge, shoot, shoot again, call an air strike, watch your friends die by the enemies, watch your friends die because your air strike killed them, and not even rest because the mission needs to be completed.

It is one of the most epic and spectacular games I ever played, and the way the devs interact with the community is pretty good.

It obviously had a few bad phases where balance was frustrating, or where bugs happened (and there are a few bugs, no pun intented), but honestly everything is secondary to the amazing experience that Helldivers 2 is.

Broken Roads is an RPG similar to Fallout but based on Australia.

So far, pretty good!

The GOOD:

- You get EXP by looking at the typical (?) icons you find in these games (if you played Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Tyranny or the Owlcat Games, you know what I mean). This encourages exploration, since it means not only combat and loot, but also small exp from these sources.

- There is a skill called Punt. It basically gives you a set of points (Punt points) that allow you to either spend them to improve success during combat (higher chance to hit) or improve success on some skill checks (it allows you to spend points to equal the required level, this means if you require 30 throwing but you have 25, you can spend 5 punt points to be able to success). These punt points refresh after leveling up.
Outside improving skills and odds at combat, leveling this skill also passively improves critical hit chance, which is great and necessary so this skill doesn't become useless if you somehow ran out of punt points.

- Graphically...is amazing. These games usually are limited by graphics, but here they used a comic style that reminds me of Borderlands, the good old XIII or the Telltale games. It is very pleasant to look at it.

- You have more than one origin story, which is always great regarding these type of games.

- Devs are active in discord and pretty nice!

The NEUTRAL:

- There is not a lot of personalization regarding your character aesthetics. You can select between a set of 8 presets, so you might not find exactly what you are trying to find. They are however very different between each other.

Nothing BAD for now, but this is early and I will update the review as soon as I keep spotting things.
