This demo is incredible. The game strikes a satisfying balance between intriguing story and engaging combat, backed by outstanding visuals.

First, the tease of the plot shown in the demo captured and hooked me in immediately. The setting proves unique, with very few other games so beautifully capturing the same Art Deco sci-fi aesthetic since Bioshock. The RPG mechanics give the player the agency and randomness to not feel railroaded throughout the (short glimpse of the) plot. The characters are likable and I felt invested in them and the world around them — the voice-acting shown in the demo is icing on the cake.

As for the combat, I found it to be engaging and, again, unique. The car-to-car combat system is refreshing and something I've never seen before in a game — it feels almost like naval combat, with the player needing to position their car side-to-side with the enemy to fire side-mounted weapons, else ramming to do damage. The abilities and weapons demonstrated in the campaign and bonus combat encounter were fun to use and creative in concept. Road hazards also make good use of the concept of car combat while also creating more dynamic scenarios where positioning your car matters.

All in all, a very promising demo for a beautifully unique game. I look forward to the full release.

A fun, cute little roguelike. Feels like an arcade game, and is a jolly good time to play around with. Arrggh on.
