I am very hopeful for the success of the project and I believe in the developers. I am concerned, though, about the optimization, environment and some QOL moments. I'll focus on aspects that might need improvement:
- There is a lot of visual noise in the environment, which makes interactable objects too difficult to see and it is sometimes tiring physically to look at the world with so much objects (little rocks, trash, grass?..) and shadow/light intensity (and contrast is too much imho, so changing it to -20 from default one is what works for me). Maybe even lighting/shadow should be looked into. It may enhance the experience and make the locations more recognizable and more easily navigatable.
- Maybe interactable objects should stand out more, as they are too difficult to find. As someone else already said, in original it was easy because of graphics limitations, but here everything blends together and interctable, pickable etc. objects get lost in all of the environment details.
- Interacting with the objects and UI (picking up objects, opening, closing menus) is very slow and those animaiton should be much, much shorter if possible, it takes too much time to do pretty much anything, better even if we could pick up the items on the go and maybe pick up several of the little ones at the time.
- UI may need to be a little more minimalistic aesthetic-vise. And I hope that in the full game pause will actually pause the game.
- Captions above the objects would be helpful. I'm sure it'll be added later, but it should be mentioned.
- Adding hints for the graphics options would be helpful to set optimal settings without spending too much time for it (i.e. what options affect performance the most)
- Creatures "dying again" and replaying the death animations and sounds after loading the save is jarring, I hope it is not the case for the full game.
- NPCs get bugged after the unexpected behavior sometimes.
- Having an option to put the torch on the ground is good, but there should also be an option to remove it altogether, as in the original; right now you can only pick it up in your hand or put it on the ground.
- Make subtitles appear all at once and make dialogue choices selectable with numbers! I double the other person's review, these changes would help a lot.
- Battle system is great, but it'd be more intuitive if you could focus on the enemy not only via pressing Tab, but also automatically when you have your weapon drawn, not everyone noticed the option to focus on enemies and change targets. Also I liked that the enemies can parry you, but you should see it far earlier and more evidently than it is in the demo, it is nearly impossible to track and react to cancel your attack (the mechanic of avoiding getting parried really has potential if done right).

Just a side note, but it was surprising for me that the new camera angle is easier to navigate than the "classic" one and is actually better, especially in combat.

Definitely love the demo and the direction the remake is going in, and wish success for the developers here. Please polish it as much as you can in the time that you have to do so, as even the perfect game can be spoiled with unpolishedness (specifically bugs and performacne issues). Thank you for your constant communication with the players, it is one of the things that helps me stay hopeful for a great remake.
