I hardly review games but I took the chance and pre-ordered it and FINALLY a mainline sonic game that is just good out of the box. Its arguable that the last "good" sonic game Minus (frontiers imo) was Sonic generations 2011. Finally, 13 years later I can say sonic is back to quality again.
Why? Ian Flynn's writing. Its key. The comics have been the best under him and his writing in frontiers was something that you can tell when he was forced for things to happen / rushed. Not here. The game-play is solid and there are way to fix the control issues if you feel there are some. But the story and flow is right, Sonic games had lost there identity for 13 long years in the eyes of many fans or enjoyers like myself. This finally is a step forward.
They nailed the open Zone / overworld feel as well. Using new abilities to explore and find collectibles and just be free. At times where to do and how to get there COULD be a bit clearer.. But Im sure with time and possibly updates / hint / forced camera pan. That can be addressed. My only other issue here is I kinda wish they didn't just re-use older soundtracks. They didn't do that with Sonic generations 2011, They used remixes and remasters ALONG WITH the original songs. Not a huge issue but kinda a downer. At the time of writing I have only beat the Shadow story as the other half of the game is Sonic generations which I have already beat and completed to my hearts content.

I use this for my stories / books.
I have owned it for a little less then a year now.
I have 145 hours in it.
This is THE thing to use for creating any story.

Pros:
You can import files like ref sheets or location pictures.
You can use mods to expand what you can have on the tab to the right. Which you can leave open or closed as you write.
It is a must for writers.
It keeps track of word count in total and your daily count.
EVERY part is customizable, the backround the font the colors of text the backround all of it.
You also can use the steam cloud in the worst case something fails.

Cons:
You need to maunally save your work. This needs to be done before you try to import something as crashes can happen (they are rare.)
No youtube or music support. (Yet) This is a BIG issue for me. As I have to flip my screens every few minuets.
